I am selling my 2001 MR2 Spyder that has a high performance 2zz engine in it that is found in a Lotus Elise, Matrix XRS, and Corolla XRS. The engine was installed about 4 years ago at 95,000 miles on the car. Since then, I have put about 7,000 miles on it. The car has over 102,000 miles on it now. The engine was purchased from a JDM engine shop based out of Montreal Canada with roughly 30,000 miles on the engine. The engine came with a 6 spd manual trans which is upgraded from a 5spd that comes with the car. The interior is flawless. The exterior is in good shape as well except for the L/F fender (pictured above). A shopping cart in the local Home Depot rolled into it and dented it. I never fixed it but i have seen fenders for roughly 150.00 and that is all you need. No structural damage was done. The Rims were painted black by the previous owner and I never changed that. They can be easily repainted or stripped down to the original silver color. There is NO damage to the rims whatsoever. The vehicle (because of its age) could use new shocks, the rear brake calipers should be replaced because the acentric e-brake locks up when you use it and a new convertible top. The car is still driveable, when you park it just leave it in gear. Some performance add ons are cold air intake, FULL Monkey Wrench Racing exhaust, and Monkey Wrench Underdrive Pulleys. The check engine light is on due to the straight pipe. This car is very fast. It drives normal around town getting 30MPG and then when you step on it, past 6000 RPM, Hold on.
