1961 MG MGA 23817 miles serial number GHDL91412 Im selling this for my grandparents. This car belonged to my late uncle, who was very into MGs of all types. I know this was his pride and joy. My grandparents always had it covered and stored in a barn. I know that it was painted sometime around 2009 and that was probably the last time it was driven. Paint job is pretty nice. Shows well and was done right. Has a couple paint dings from storage. Interior looks original, not really sure. Not too bad of shape interior for a car of its age. All glass is intact and clear. This car has always been in the dry southwest so there is no rust. Steering wheel plastic is cracked and brittle as shown in the photos. Engine and components are all there. The car was parked in driving condition, batteries removed, ans stored. I am not about to attempt to get it running as I know nothing about british cars. Im sure it would need fresh batteries, fluids, and a good once through to get it back on the road. The only thing I see that is missing is a cover behind the seats for the battery compartment. I will check around to see if it was stored in the barn where the car was, however I dont really know what I am looking for. Long story short, This would make an excellent candidate for restoration or a good looking weekend driver. Buyer should assume to pick up with a trailer or arrange for transport. It probably doesn't need much, but you will not be flying in and driving it home. Also have a couple MGB parts cars (bodies, drivetrains, etc) and possibly some MGA parts. Ill have to take you to look at them. Car is stored at my airplane hangar in Fabens, TX. (about 30 miles east of El Paso, TX) Feel free to come look at it. I am still searching for the battery cover plate. I found the aircleaners and some spare parts for it. Also found some cool European custom plates that were made for this car. One says 1600 mga and the other is the plate number. The engine is definetly a 1600. Stamping on the block says 1600 and the serial is 16ga-u 23520. Trunk has no holes. There is no rust that I could find. The frame looks good other than a little surface rust that is easily brushed off. The car was always stored inside and we have a very dry climate so things don't rust down here. Any questions please call or email. Thanks!
