I bought this car for my wife a couple of months ago and she lost her job and decided to go back to school. We've painfully made the decision that we're not in a position to own an old car/project right now. The car is original and has been partially restored. Below is the listing notes from the original purchase: 1962 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Power Windows, Seats, Steering. Brakes and Antenna Clean orig California car. Its been in Las Vegas for over 20 yrs now. The previous owner of this car most of its life is 85 yrs old now He put in over $5k worth of restoration 5 years ago before his stroke He can not drive it or maintain it anymore. Most of the work is done New kustom interior. New white wall radial tires. New dual exhaust All glass is beautiful, orig factory coke bottle green tint and in perfect cond. I put a good quality brand new battery in it and some fresh fuel and she started right up. The motor is strong and smooth. The tranny shifts good I drove it down the strip and local here in Vegas. I havent driven it out of state Its been garaged and still is. The motor has been serviced over the years The entire drive train is orig and solid. The oil is clean and doesnt smoke I am not aware of the seat working because the upholster disconnected it Somethings were not put back on mainly interior trim pieces but everything seems to be there (see below for notes) and in a box with a lot of extra pieces. Ok, now for the fine print.. I am not a car person and know nothing about fixing or restoring them. The car is now located (garaged) in Santa Ana, CA (Orange County) and currently DOES NOT RUN (needs new carb). I had a professional mechanic come and inspect the car and go through it. The car needed a new intake manifold gasket (which I had replaced) and carburetor (which I did not). My mechanics advice was to leave that to whoever buys the car to choose whatever model they prefer. Everything else on the drivetrain appears to be okay. After carb replacement car should run fine. Not everything was hooked back up when they did the interior so I have no idea if the power seats, antenna, etc. work. The car came with a trunk full of extra parts/materials. Some are for the interior but I know there are a few things missing (driver/passenger kick panels, sun visors & left AC cover for sure). Note that the interior upholstery appears to have been done some time ago- according to the previous owner it was done and then stored as the gentlemen who owned the car could not finish the whole thing. The back glass was broken when the car was transported to us. I had it replaced with an original at $1,000 cost and it looks great. This is a great project for someone who knows what they are doing to finish. Beyond that please check the pictures carefully and ask any questions as car is being sold as is. Title is clean and has Nevada Registration that expired June 2015. Car is available for inspection during the auction period. Please don't commit to buy unless you are serious and intend to follow through with immediate payment by wire transfer or certified check. I have started the bidding at $500 and have a low 8k reserve on it. I request payment be made within 5 days of auction close (I can store the car for longer while shipping is worked out).
