NO RESERVE Auction. This is a private party, full-disclosure sale on our 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx LS VE. Two-owner car with only 119,315 miles, passed down from father (NYPD) to son. Title is clear and in our possession. No pets, no kids, non-smoker. Car has newer Michelin tires and a brand new Sears battery. CD Player. Power windows and locks. All-weather floor mats. Moonroof. All services are up to date. Car was our main car until arrival of twins and has been parked since early last summer. Inspection sticker expired 6/15. It has not failed any inspection - we have a new SUV, and we are selling Malibu because we don't use the car any longer. Car is in good to very good condition. Car has bright paint work, with no body damage, no major dents or scrapes although it may have door dings and other as to be expected of a 11 year old car. There are some small rust spots on front lip of hood from stone chips but no rust on rest of car. No clear coat issues. Paint is glossy. Headlight lenses are hazy, as expected (polishing kits widely available). No chips in windshield, all glass is great and power windows work fast and smooth. There are no odors in this car. Smells very good and is very clean with no leaks in moonroof, no major stains on seats or cuts or wear. Passenger seat has light staining. This is a meticulously maintained car. AC and Heat are strong. All functions, including power windows, stereo, CD player, lights, horn and controls, work as intended. No check engine or warning lights. Does not overheat or leak fluids. Has many service records. All fluids are clean. All services are up to date and the Michelin tires have over 75% tread left. This is a great, safe and reliable car. With the back seats folded down you can fit a ton of cargo. In the sake of complete disclosure, car was backed into in 2010 and bumper and under safety bumper was replaced under insurance to as new condition. Brakes stop strong and hard with no pulling left or right, but do make a soft grinding noise indicative of light rust on rotors - which may or may not disappear with use (again car was parked for over 6 months). Tires may have minor flat spotting from sitting or just need balancing, again - may or may not disappear with use. Passenger side passenger door lock button does not function but the lock does from driver side (all locks work - just that one button does not lock or unlock the door although you can simply reach up and pull up on the lock). Exhaust is relatively loud beneath driver area but it has always sounded like this even when car is in the shop and we were assured it is normal, but repairs may be needed or not. Some old stickers in back rear window. Key fob not currently functional. We are not mechanics and are selling this car with complete disclosure and do not wish to put the usually positive spin or lack of description as with most used car ads. Car could use a cleaning here or there and there may be something very minor we have overlooked but we have been very diligent in describing and testing every function in the car. Auction will run until end and will not be ended early. Usual caveat: car is sold as-is, where is, no warranty expressed or implied.
