2005 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport AWD, manual transmission, just inspected. Great winter car, student car, or daily driver and low-cost, commuter. The catch: it was standing for several months, and the Subaru coolant conditioner came out of the coolant and formed a gel. We replaced the radiator, but the problem is persisting. The coolant has been flushed 2x by our local mechanic and will be flushed a 3rd time before purchase. If you're mechanically talented, it's a steal. Added: Answers to an eBay user's questions:1) Does the oil on the dipstick look like oil or foam?No, there is no foam in the oil, or white smoke coming out of the exhaust. 2) Does the coolant overflow tank fill up after a long hard run?Not sure, the shop says that they tested it, but 3) Have the temp sensors been checked?Not sure, the shop may or may not have done this. 4) Is the overheating still an issue after the radiator replacement?Yes, it is, but some days it seems to run fine and some days it does not. 5) Was the radiator service performed by a Subaru shop or a other?No, it was performed by a local shop. 6) Has the head gasket ever been changed?Not to my knowledge. I bought the car at 130k and there were no records attached, however the last seller indicated that it was maintained to schedule. 7) Does the car leave marks on the asphalt or concrete underneath the engine?No. We have a parking pad made of red concrete pavers; even a drip of oil or fluids would be obvious. 8) When was the timing belt changed last?If the seller was correct that it was maintained to schedule, that would have been around 100k.
