I have a good running 1973 CJ-5 up for auction. It was frame on restored about 5 years ago by previous owner with a new best-top soft-top installed. He didn't have a garage to keep it in so the clear coat is beginning to peel in places on the hood, cowl and tops of the fenders. It has a couple of bubbles in the paint, but all in all its a pretty solid Jeep to be a 1973 model. I had the seats recovered in black vinyl and put a good coating of Rhino lining inside the tub. The frame is rust free and solid, which is rare for this old of a Jeep. The tailgate section is really good and has very little rust at all. The floor pans have had patch panels put in, but are solid and look good with the Rhino lining. The Jeep has a padded dash, seat belts are in it, no back seat, heater works, lights work, wipers work, the transfer case and manual hubs work as they should. The clutch was replaced by previous owner and I have the old one that came out of it. It didn't look that bad, but a spring came out of the clutch, so they replaced it. The clutch releases at the very top of the clutch pedal travel. I was going to adjust it, but the clutch rod has no adjustment on it(see pic). I personally don't think its the correct clutch rod. It does not have any threads at all, but it fits right and looks correct, but just no adjustment. The engine is a small block chevy 283 cid. that runs great. It does not smoke, leak or rattle and fires up the first time everytime. The choke works good, It holds good oil pressure, temperature guage works, It has an HEI distributor, new battery, true dual exhaust ran out the back with a slight turndown on the tailpipes. Its a pretty good little Jeep, but like any 40+ year old Jeep, you can always find something to do or tinker with on them. The reserve is low compared to others on ebay.
