Vehicle Detail
1971 Chevrolet ChevelleHeavy Chevy Recreation--------------------------------------------------------------To start, this is MY car.I am NOT a dealer.I did NOT buy this car a couple days ago trying to "flip" it to make quick money.I bought this car 8-1/2 years ago simply because it looked exactly like my first car I ever owned.I rode a bus from Maryland to Wisconsin and drove it home. What a fun ride! When I first bought the car,it had already been restored. It had a stock 350/4barrell with dual exhaust,350 turbo transmission, and a 10 bolt, single trac rear. This was perfect for my drive home from WI.to MD. but,as I drove,my mind began to imagine a much different set up.===========================================================================I first replaced the 10 bolt rear with a professionally rebuilt 12 bolt rear with a new posi unit, new axles and new 3:73 gears. While I had things torn apart,I added SS frame braces, new Upper and lower boxed control arms from UMI performance,a new repro sway bar and a pair of Lakewood traction bars.Next I replaced to stock 350 turbo transmission with a completely rebuilt 350 turbo from Action Transmission in Tennessee. They assured me that this transmission was rebuilt with quality parts and would easily hold up to my application. It has, with no problems at all.I also replaced the stock torque converter with a new B&M Holeshot converter. It has a stall of 2500.I also added a deeper aluminum transmission pan. This transmission has VERY firm, crisp shifts and will grab awesome second gear chirps(actually, more than a chirp)everytime. Finally,The stock 350 motor was replaced with a 383 stroker motor from A.R. Racing-Performance in Summerduck,VA.He's been selling on Ebay for years and has 100% feedback. You can check him out with his seller name arracingunl. If I remember correctly, this motor was rated at 440Hp. I don't remember all the specifics on the motor but I do know it a 4 bolt main block and has 10.5 compression. It has a really nice choppy muscle car sound to it and plenty of power and torque.Edelbrock 750 cfm carburetor,Edelbrock Aluminum heads, Hedman headers with Flowmaster 2-1/2" exhaust, and Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers.I'm not a motor guy but,I can tell you that this car will get up and go!!It could probably use a little tinkering to the timing, vaccuum advance or carb jetting as it does have a tendency to ping slightly under acceleration.Something I'm sure a seasoned mechanic could figure out in an afternoon.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The body on this car is very straight and rustfree. As far as I can tell,it still has the original rear quarter panels and such. The paint is excellent as well and shines beautifully.I've tried to show the few bad spots in the paint(which are very minor).275/60-15 TA Radials on the back with 15X8 Keystone Klassics.235-60-15 TA Radials on the frontwith 15X7 Keystone Klassics.Hotchkis sway bar on the front.==============================================================================================================================================The interior was all redone when I got it.I added a B&M Megashifter on the floor and Autometer gauges throughout. Also included with car will be a CoverCraft DUSTOP car cover, all the seatbelts(I removed all of them except the driver and passenger),windshield wiper arms, charcoal canister, windshield washer reservoir, and original steering box(I replaced this with a steering box from a Jeep Grand Cherokee for a nicer driving car). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------================================================================Overall,this is a very solid car that I have enjoyed taking to shows and cruising around town in ever since I've owned it.It definitely turns heads everywhere I go in it.It drives very straight and true with no shakes or rattles. It probably has about 3000 miles at the very most on the motor, transmission, rear, and tires and wheels. This car is NOT just a car to me.It has a whole lot of my blood, sweat, and tears in it and I wouldn't be selling it if I didn't have to but, life changes and right now my priorities are very different than they were before.===================================================Please ask all questions BEFORE you bid.The high bidder will be buying this car.Yes,you're welcome to come look at the car.If it's a nice day we can even go for a spin. No,you're NOT gonna drive it until you've bought it.Sorry,my car,my rules. If you're a tire kicker please stay away from my car,I don't have time to play games.Once you bought it,it's yours. If you plan to have this car picked up and shipped,I will try my best to help in anyway I can but, you'll have to make all the arrangements.Within 5 days of the auctions end,I require a deposit of $1000.00 via Certified Bank Check. The remaining balance can be paid at time of pickup via Certified Bank Check or CASH.At that time,I will sign off the title and the car will be yours. Car is being sold "AS IS".
