The 1947 Ford Super Deluxe convertible up for auction is part of a small private collection of vintage automobiles here in New Orleans. I maintain the collection and have been instructed by the owner it is time to auction off the Ford . Purchased in November 2003 in Arizona, the 1947 Ford spent most of it existence in the South West. Repainted in 2007 in matching original maroon red color, new tan canvas top in 2010, new front and rear springs, gas tank, carburetor, fuel pump and Firestone tires in 2012 and new battery and starter. in 2013. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volt for easier starting This Ford has had a active life by the current owner and has been featured in numerous Hollywood South movies and HBO specials, along with use in Mardi Gras Parades and many car shows. In spite of it's age it is still in very good mechanical and driving condition. This is NOT a perfect 10 show car and is 68 years old and has a few flaws, such as: the convertible top functions manually as the top motor is missing, vacuum wipers leak and need rebuilding, radio is non functional as the clock. The 1947 Ford is being sold as is with no expressed or implied warranty. Buyer is responsible for vehicle all shipping costs. Our office/warehouse facility is located in the Mid City area of New Orleans and can accommodate 18 wheeler trucks for ease of loading/unloading freight and vehicles.
