1937 Cord Supercharged This Cord, over 35 years ago, won 1st place Nationally by the Classic Car Club of America. The car was sold in 1980 by The Philadelphia Motor Co. to a gentleman and went out of the country. (Pictures show ad circa 1980). The car sat for the last 35 years with nothing changed. He passed away in the past year, was a billionaire and won Pebble Beach 5 times. I purchased the car through the estate. It is one of only 184 supercharged cars made. It appears a good portion of the paint is original. The paint has some checking and few thin spots but has an aged look with really bright finish that probably should never be touched. The sides are laser straight and the body lines all fit nicely. There is no rust and its nice on the underside. The chrome and polish is in excellent condition. The glass appears to be original and has some lamination separation. The doors open & shut beautifully as well as the hood & trunk. The interior has held up remarkably well for the car sitting for so many years. The trunk and floor carpets are original. The interior cloth and headliner are in overall well preserved condition. The dash and instruments are lovely and survived exceptionally well. The gauges work along with the dash lights. Even the original radio works. The motor runs like a watch. The factory electric Pre-selector transmission works beautifully thru all 4 gears and reverse. The brakes have been refurbished. The supercharger was removed (it had never been apart and was in amazing original condition), then serviced and has a whine that's so cool. The carb, water pump and radiator have been rebuilt along with new fluids. The oil pan had never been removed, it was re-sealed and there are no leaks. Included, but not pictured, it has the factory correct supercharger air cleaner. If any of you remember this car (who are my age) it would be fun to talk about it. There are 4 brand new Lester WW tires. The mileage is believed to be correct at 64,104 miles. It retains its original spare, jack & tools.
