NO RESERVE!!Selling because of DIVORCE!!!Here's your chance to own a highly sought after fifth generation Nissan Maxima GLE.This car has served me well and I'm certain would've continued to do so but hey,it's got to be sold as part of our divorce agreement.The car currently has 214,XXX miles on it and still runs excellent.I run this car 100 miles round trip to work 5 days a week and is primarily driven on the highway at speeds of 55 to 70 mph.I typically set the cruise control at about 65 mph or so and set back and enjoy the drive.It drives straight and rides very smooth and quiet.In 2002,if you were gonna spend the bucks on a new Maxima,this was the one to buy.It is the absolute,top of the line GLE model and has just about every option you can imagine.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The body on this car is actually in above average shape.It has very little rust or damage.I'm a very picky car guy and I always made sure to park away from the front row spots where all the "door dingers" hang out.I also tried to hose the car off on a regular basis in the winter to keep the salt from destroying it.As you can see in the pictures,the right rear wheel well is starting to bubble up a good bit and the left rear bumper has a "kink" in it where I backed out of the garage into my SIL's Jeep(Boy,was I pissed at myself for that little maneuver).The paint on the roof has lost it's shine due to the clearcoat peeling off and the hood,well,the clearcoat peeled and then the paint started flaking off shortly after that.Okay,Okay,the hood is freaking ugly!!! I know it and there's no hiding it!!!I was gonna have the hood repainted but frankly,I was just too cheap.Then for awhile,I thought of painting it flat black like all the young kids do but,nah that's not me so,it looks like it does.The headlights are fogged over pretty bad.I used to polish them out myself but,over time,I just got lazy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The interior is in really good shape.The leather seats are nice except for on tear along the left side of the driver's seat.It's be torn like that since I've owned the car(since 2005,I think) and it hasn't gotten any worse so,I figured why mess with it?The Bose stereo sounds awesome but for some reason,the CD player stopped working about 3 years ago.The AM/FM works fine as does the cassette player.Two of my favorite things have always been the heated steering wheel and heated seats.The heated wheel feels great after you get done chiseling that winter crap off the windshield and your fingers are numb.Everything else inside works fine.Heater blows warm and toasty and the A/C blows cool and frosty.Just set the climate control to the desired temperature and go!====================================================================Mechanically,this car is still unbelievely reliable after all these years.I've always changed the oil every 5,000 miles.The engine doesn't have any crazy noises or anything.The 7 year battery was installed about a year ago(I think,maybe a little longer).About two years ago,I had both front struts replaced.About a year ago,I replaced the rear brake rotors and pads and the right rear caliper.The mid muffler and rear muffler were replaced around a year ago and is very solid and quiet.About 6 months ago,I replaced the front brake rotors and pads and the left rear caliper.The brakes are good(although,the front brakes have been a little squeaky ever since I replaced them.I think one of the wear sensors is rubbing a little.No real big deal).Just a few months ago,the radiator decided to spring a leak.I replaced it with a new one and also put upper and lower hoses on at that time.(Hey,might as well,right?)Tires are top of the line Coopers and have maybe 25,000 miles on them.If I remember correctly,they were 70,000 mile tires. ============================================================Yes,this car is starting to show it's age and yes,it's probably gonna have a few unforeseen problems but,if I were able to keep it,I would.I had planned on running for at least another 100,000 miles.Just this past spring,I drove it to Louisville ,KY and back and I never gave any thought to it causing me any problems.And it didn't.I really hate to see it go. ============================================================ This car is being sold "AS IS" with no reserve.So,bid seriously and bid often if you want it!!I will contact the winning bidder shortly after the end of the auction with my phone number.I then expect a call from YOU to make plans for pick up.It can stay here no longer than 30 days of auction end.I expect FULL payment at time of pick up(if not sooner)at which time,I'll sign off on the title and you will own a Maxima.
