Vehicle Detail
This Buick has always lived with 30 miles of Seattle owned by 2 families. A carfax report will be included. There is virtually nothing of consequence to see other than change of title 3 times. You''ll not find a more detailed report anywhere than that I write personally. Perhaps too much info. But that is a chatty senior citizen's prerogative. No auto dealer here! An Everett, Wa. woman in her 70's was first owner and passed away in early 2005. Car was then titled to husband. He went into long-term care facility in early 2010, and car was signed over to his daughter. She lived only a block from him in Everett, and out of respect she kept his home and the garaged Buick until his passing in summer of 2013. My husband's cousin owns a popular auto body and rebuild business in Everett. The daughter had dropped car there for replacement of driver's seatbelt. Her father had managed to cut it nearly all the way through! There are a couple of little nicks in psgr belt (of no concern), but guess he wore himself out cutting his own. Cousin called my husband to say he had a really low mileage Buick in the shop that woman was going to sell and come quick to see it. Because......husband is currently driving his 8th Buick (and still has his 1st!) We are in our 60's, a bit set in our ways, and I had always driven a Cadillac or Lincoln - the longer the better. I had a '98 Lincoln with 108K on it and he talked me into buying this. I have put 7K miles on it in the two years I've had it. Its a great car with some great features. It has lots of pep. I'm a fan of big V-8s and I'd have not known this was a 6 unless told. The front wheel drive is of course a big advantage over a big rear wheel drive Lincoln which doesn't even like heavy rain, let alone ice or snow. I must say though, part of it is these Michelin MX4 tires that have the most amazing traction. Right front tire has little knick out of edge, but have taken to two tire shops and am told it is totally fit as the others. And, lots of tread on them. And, finally, I will have heated seats in every car I ever drive for the rest of my days!! What a treat. Long and short of it is, I found a '98 Lincoln like the one I had driven for the 15 years prior to getting this, and because it had only 5K miles and heated seats, it had to be mine. I'll get it some Michelin tires and drive it for the rest of my days. So, this beauty can be yours. For some bizarre reason GM called this color "Light Antelope". The title when I got it said Champagne. When I went to register it, the DMV gal says, "no Champagne on my list. Pick something else". So, now it says Bronze, which was on her list. The woman we purchased from said she did not think to question her Dad about his car, its papers/records, etc. When time to sell, she found no paperwork but title he had given her. Only thing in car was the manual in glove box. And she gave us one remote and key. I had second key made. We have regularly maintained. The repairs we have done are replacing non-working antenna with an original ACDelco, fixing a power steering growl with two new hoses (an old service bulletin led our mechanic to that fix), and a leak into trunk that cousin could not diagnose in his shop was finally resolved by removing trunk lid and resetting it with a "super" glue. Joints are not as pretty as they were when built, but he guarantees leak is gone for good. Leather is beautiful. Interior is quite clean. Car has never been smoked in. I have heavy winter mats currently in front and back. Will provide the lighter duty ones that came with it too. Paint in excellent condition. Not a dent or scratch to be seen. A couple of those annoying little door or front/rear end dings from inconsiderates who care nothing for their cars or ours! I did buy a paint touch-up kit for it, but have not tried to use, and will put box in trunk. Tiny bubble (original flaw) in windshield glass low on driver side. Guaranteed not to develop into anything bigger. Never noticed until installing great new triple wiper blades. Forgot to photograph trunk and am out of town until late in week. But, it is totally clean, spare is there, and it does have the netting that buttons side to side to contain small items. Good luck all. Hope you buy and love it as all of us did.
