Vehicle Detail

For Sale is a 1964 Dodge Power Wagon Truck. I bought it two years ago and it has been stored indoors ever since. Here's what I can tell you about it. It appears to be a US Forestry service truck with only 26,000 miles. The original paint is blue but I believe it was sprayed green when the winch and spotlights were added early on. The truck has a working 318 poly engine. Most items on the engine have been replaced: plugs, wires, cap, coil, valve cover gasket, water pump, fuel pump, master cylinder and all oils. The engine is strong and starts and drives easily. It wants to be driven. Tires are original and stamped 1964. Surprisingly, they don't show much cracking. The gear box is a 4 speed manual transmission with a manual hand lever to engage the 4x4 feature. I drive this truck regularly and have no issues. Heater works great. It does have some items in need of maintenance: The front windshield has a chunk of weatherstripping (3-4 inches) missing. The rear glass is missing altogether but the truck comes with an OEM replacement. It also has a couple of holes in the roof where the radio antennas used to be. One of the previous owners replaced the steering wheel and steering box however the originals come with the truck. There is some surface rust but nothing too bad from what I can tell. I have the original shop manual and owners manual and other small spare parts that come with the W300. The winch is a PTO but does not work. I suspect that it is frozen from non-use. I called the manufacturer (Braden) and they think it just needs cleaned and greased since the miles are so low. I will also include the material Braden sent. Overall, this is a great truck and a fun restoration project. On Nov-12-15 at 20:45:25 PST, seller added the following information: Nov 12. I'm adding a few more details after speaking to a some interested parties The windshield wipers work well though the blades are worn When braking hard, the truck pulls to one side The wheels are split rim. I do not have a spare wheel or tire I don't know if the emergency brake or emergency lights works but I'll check and update the post by Saturday I can store the truck a reasonable amount of time in the garage after the sale On Nov-14-15 at 10:40:03 PST, seller added the following information: November 14 - Drove the truck on the highway today to make sure everything is working as advertised. Had the Power Wagon consistently over 65, but not by much. An important observation. The steering wheel and steering box were replaced before I purchased the truck. I don't know the make of the replacement steering parts. The steering wheel is smaller than the original and power steering was not added so the result is heavy steering. I have not had any issues making turns or have any concerns about driving the truck but it's an important point to pass on. The parking brake does work. I tested it on a hill with the gear box in neutral. The emergency lights do not work.
