Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1972 Honda CB175 parts bike. This is a non-running motorcycle. However it rolls freely and the brakes work ok. Clutch handle pulls in ok. I bought it about 8 years ago from a gentlemen on the west side of the state who restored these bikes and rode them in nostalgic races. This was an extra bike he had that he had taken some parts off of (headlight / tailight). It was not running at the time. I had a retired Honda mechanic work on it to get it running. I purchased a head light and tail light off ebay and had the mechanic wire them in. Unfortunately when the bike was running it had a knock in the engine and the transmission really didn't want to go thru the different speeds well. When I did have it running all the lights (head / tail / turn signals / lights in speedo) were functioning properly. I put a different gas tank on it (has rust in it) and bought some side covers and put on it. The bike has always been stored in a garage. The tires (look like there have been replaced at some time) hold air but have weather cracking, no spokes missing on the wheels. I tried to clean the exhaust pipes but they have permanent discoloration on them. There are some dents and rusting on the undersides. Lots of rust here and there on the bike. The side covers have the tabs present although there is some spider webbing / cracks in the covers. The gas tank has a large dent in the top. The seat is in really nice shape. No tears or rips. There is rusting on the metal parts of the seat. This is a bike that would be fine to part out or mess with it to get it running. I just don't think it would be actually worth it to get in riding shape for the road. This is probably not a suitable project for someone who doesn't know anything about bikes. Engine has following number stamped in it - CB175E-7021124. Number stamped on fork neck is CB175-7021059. This is the same number on the badge on the other side of the fork neck. I have no title for this bike. I do NOT have a title. Had to put something in the title box. I bought the bike with a bill of sale and will sell the same way. You are more than welcome to make an appointment to look it over if you want. Local pick up or have a shipping company pick it up. I do not have any suggestions on shipping companies. You will need to research that on your own. Please look at all the pictures and ask any questions.
