My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 Kompressor with the optional factory Sport Package and the super rare dogleg 5 speed manual transmission. I would rate the exterior of this SLK to be on the low side of AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. Overall, this is a good looking little roadster. The black finish shines nicely and looks smooth. I would say this car is a good ten footer. Up close, you can see several scratches as well as a few other blemishes in the finish that I would consider to be a little excessive for the age and mileage of this car...the most noteworthy of which would be a small dent in the hood which should be visible in the photos. The body lines are straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The optional 18" AMG staggered alloy wheels aren't perfect but show well and really, really make the car. They are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with average tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully and please, please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION. I would rate the interior of this SLK to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior. The deeply bolstered sport seats are clean and comfortable. Both front seats are heated. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly. The power top DOES NOT work. What's more, it appears to be leaking a little hydraulic fluid up at the front latch. I haven't taken the time to try and figure out what's wrong with it as that is well outside of the scope of my diagnostic abilities and I don't have much experience with the SLK's. The climate control system appears to be working properly. It offers independent temperature settings for the driver and passenger. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The audio system is original with the exception of the added auxillary cable, which comes at the cost of one of the buttons. The interior trim is all intact and shows well, too. Mechanically, this SLK320 appears to be in good running and driving condition with one quirk...which I'll get to in a minute. The 2.3L supercharged engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are excellent. This little Merc is an absolute blast to drive down twisty back roads. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. This SLK handles like it's on rails. The steering feels great and the brakes work well. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. There have been no idiot lights on. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. The aforementioned quirk seems to be with the transmission. As best I can figure out by trial and error, it will stick in 2nd gear if you wind the engine up past 2,500 rpm's in 2nd. You can rev it as high as you want in any other gear with no issues. If you keep the revs low in 2nd, it'll shift up to 3rd with no problem. All gear changes are nice and smooth...but you'll find yourself stuck in 2nd if you rev it too high. I've found it will pop out of 2nd if you shut the car off and fiddle with it for a minute. I don't know quite what to make of it, honestly. Aside from that one thing, the car drives great. Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 Kompressor with the optional factory Sport Package and the super rare dogleg 5 speed manual transmission. I would rate the exterior of this SLK to be on the low side of AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. Overall, this is a good looking little roadster. The black finish shines nicely and looks smooth. I would say this car is a good ten footer. Up close, you can see several scratches as well as a few other blemishes in the finish that I would consider to be a little excessive for the age and mileage of this car...the most noteworthy of which would be a small dent in the hood which should be visible in the photos. The body lines are straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The optional 18" AMG staggered alloy wheels aren't perfect but show well and really, really make the car. They are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with average tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully and please, please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION.
I would rate the interior of this SLK to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The carpets show well throughout the interior. The deeply bolstered sport seats are clean and comfortable. Both front seats are heated. The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly. The power top DOES NOT work. What's more, it appears to be leaking a little hydraulic fluid up at the front latch. I haven't taken the time to try and figure out what's wrong with it as that is well outside of the scope of my diagnostic abilities and I don't have much experience with the SLK's. The climate control system appears to be working properly. It offers independent temperature settings for the driver and passenger. The heater works well and the air conditioner blows ICE COLD AIR, too. The audio system is original with the exception of the added auxillary cable, which comes at the cost of one of the buttons. The interior trim is all intact and shows well, too.
Mechanically, this SLK320 appears to be in good running and driving condition with one quirk...which I'll get to in a minute. The 2.3L supercharged engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are excellent. This little Merc is an absolute blast to drive down twisty back roads. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. This SLK handles like it's on rails. The steering feels great and the brakes work well. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. There have been no idiot lights on. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. The aforementioned quirk seems to be with the transmission. As best I can figure out by trial and error, it will stick in 2nd gear if you wind the engine up past 2,500 rpm's in 2nd. You can rev it as high as you want in any other gear with no issues. If you keep the revs low in 2nd, it'll shift up to 3rd with no problem. All gear changes are nice and smooth...but you'll find yourself stuck in 2nd if you rev it too high. I've found it will pop out of 2nd if you shut the car off and fiddle with it for a minute. I don't know quite what to make of it, honestly. Aside from that one thing, the car drives great. Winning Bidders:
Winning bidders are required to contact us via eBay Message within 48 hours of auction close and make arrangements for payment and vehicle pick-up. Please do not leave a voicemail on the office phone.
Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will be having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.
PayPal is not an accepted payment method. This includes Bill Me Later.
We cannot accept credit cards or personal checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are a PennDOT issuing agent and able to complete most tag, registration, and title work, as well as collect sales tax, for Pennsylvania residents.
For out-of-state buyers PennDOT offers a 30-day temporary tag (aka In-Transit tag). The cost is $45 and the buyer must show a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance. We can issue them at our office.
