2003 BMW 540I M-Sport 6-speed This is 1 of the 1190 M-Sport 6-speeds produced in 2003, making this a difficult car to find. I purchased from a dealer in Sept 2014 with almost 102k. I have driven the car very little, it currently has 104,461. This is my second 540i and I love the cars, but I have a work vehicle to drive daily and an Excursion for family use, which accounts for the low miles I’ve driven. I have addressed all issues that the car had when I bought it and have listed all the parts replaced. The car had several oil leaks from the valley pan, valve covers and vanos solenoid which were all addressed. The water pump and timing chain tensioner were replaced while doing the valley pan as a preventative measure. The filters and oil were all changed after the valley pan and water pump were repaired. The coolant was replaced with OEM BMW coolant along with new hoses. There was a shake at speed when I got it so the front suspension components were replaced and an alignment performed, fixing the problem. The carfax from when I purchased it is shown. I cannot determine how much damage was caused by the accident showing in 2012, but I took an up close picture of the bottom right front bumper showing what I suspect is leftover damage. I have not addressed that damage as it can only be seen if you kneel down and look for it, as you can tell from the front shot. All the tires were new when I purchased it, Toyo Proxes on the front and Michelin Pilot on the rear. The dealer did not explain why the different brands, but since they are all new I left them alone. I also have a Creator c310 scan tool I purchased to turn off an airbag light I set off replacing the passengers door lock actuator. Currently the battery appears to be dead in the remote but I am working on fixing that before it is sold. The only aftermarket additions are the White LED interior lights, short shift kit, LED angel eye bulbs, yellow fog lights and a Magnaflow muffler. The stock resonator was left in place, so the car is still very quiet and only under hard acceleration can it be heard with the windows up. Outside the car is slightly deeper than stock. The dash has no missing pixels, but there is a missing line on the stereo. The a/c blows very cold and the heat works great. All windows and locks work as they should except the front passengers window, I can’t get it to auto up? It works fine, you have to push the button until its all the way up. The only sign of any wear on the interior is on the drivers side bolster, which I took a close pic of. I did post a link to two videos my wife took while I was driving. You will notice in one video my only complaint about the car, the whistle/wind noise from the drivers side at 65+. I have tried everything I can think of to stop this and if anyone can provide a fix I will gladly do it. I am selling because I rarely drive the car and purchased a new toy over the summer, a boat. The car is not perfect, but I would consider it above average for a 13 year old car. There is no rust anywhere. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. There is nothing that needs to be done to the car to drive it daily. On the video showing the back and exhaust, the bumper trim is not faded I just didn’t get all the wax off and will get that cleaned off.
