You are bidding on a 1980 Mercedes Benz 280GE, G-Wagon, Europa Import, gasoline model, 4-speed manual, lockers, M110 motor, no accident or wreck damage, low miles. Vehicle had a full mechanical restoration 4 years ago which included: Engine replacement, transmission rebuild, transfer case rebuild, complete new brake system, fuel system, wiper shafts, BRAND NEW tires (5), clutch, DRIVESHAFTS (main & front) replaced, new cooling system (new radatior core), starter motor, in excess of $20,000 spent on repairs. Records available. All major work performed by ASE certified mechanic. The dash was removed & painted. The gauges lenses were removed & cleaned & the bezels re-painted in a matte finish. The heater assembly was removed, new resistor installed, fan motor cleaned & lubed. The heater core was back-flushed & works great. A new heater valve was installed along with new hoses. The original York a/c compressor is still present. The a/c was working, but after the R12 leaked out, I removed it from the dash. Parts available if you want to go down that road. Personally, I'd install a Red Dot roof mounted a/c! Vehicle runs very nicely & starts at the flick of a key. Purrs like a Toyota. However, it needs news valve stem seals. They cost $20 for the set + a head gasket set $100. Labor is about 6 hours. Body is extremely straight with no accident damage. The windshield has some rock chips. Has factory headlamp washers, Recaro seats, single fold down bench in the back. Has twin factory gas tanks. External tire carrier. Factory first aid kit (unused) included & original owner's manual (in German). There is some rust in the driver's side floor pan and minor rust in the rear seams. If you know these vehicles, they all exhibit some rust. These are hand-built vehicles using crazy thick steel, so repairs can be made very easily & cheaply. Remember, these were military-spec vehicles, so they are very hard to break! This is the 6 door G-wagon not the 5 door. It has the split (2) door option. The window glass is the original solar tint w/ the exception of the driver's side that was replaced at some point. Payment-please read. Deposit due within 3 days via PayPal. This is non-refundable. On Oct-06-15 at 19:43:28 PDT, seller added the following information: In addition, a front axle service was performed in 2013, which included new seals, bearings, NEW right CV joint. Also, the track bar & stabilizer bars were also replaced. In the electrical dept, all new switches were installed including fan switch, hazards, headlight switch, and the hard-to-find rear fog light switch. New ground strap installed with heat-proof wrap.
