Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1936 Chevrolet Standard Town Sedan. I purchased this car in November of 2013 with the intention of building a street-driven gasser to race occasionally. The 1936 Chevrolet saw some factory upgrades that made it a good candidate for this. With hydraulic brakes and straight axle from the factory it was an easy decision. And in 1936 Chevrolet standard models had a stronger frame design than previous years, so it's a good strong platform. Now onto the details. Body: The body was rust free, however the fenders were pretty beat up. - 4 new Speedway Motors fenders have been added - Rear fenders radiused for slicks. - All new windows and window rubber installed. Windshield and rear window are clear - Side windows are bronze tint. - Paint is 1990 GM Camel Beige - Basecoat/clearcoat. - Original fenders and hood can be included if desired. Engine: - 1969 Chevrolet 350 block - Bored .030 and decked. - Keith Black flat-top pistons with 2 valve reliefs - Yields 10.25:1 Compression. - Stock crank and rods, checked and measured, with all new bearings. - Comp Cams Xtreme Energy Hydraulic Camshaft - Cam specs below - Duration at .050 - 240 on Intake and 246 on Exhaust - Valve lift - 507 on Intake and 510 on Exhaust - Chevrolet Vortec Iron heads, new valves and 3 angle valve job, with Comp Cams 1.52 ratio self-aligning rockers. - Air-Gap Vortec Intake - Dual Plane - Brand new 750 cfm Holley Dual Feed Double Pumper. - HEI Distributor. - Chrome stock-style valve covers - Short water pump. - Brand new superior aluminum radiator - Car runs cool, even on 90 degree days. - Speedway Motors fat fender headers - AHC coated with a turnout - No mufflers. Transmission: - Rebuilt Turbo 350 with Shift Improver Kit - B & M ratchet shifter. - 3200 RPM Summit Racing Stall Converter. Rear End: - 1971 Pontiac Ventura 8.5 10 Bolt. - New positraction unit and 4.11 gears - All bearings, seals, and gaskets replaced. - Car has 2 inch lowering blocks to get level stance. Interior: - Sparse with stock seats front and rear, wearing original fabric from 1936. They are a little rough, but still sit nice and fit with the original untouched look. - Door panels replaced with blank door panel board. - Original steering wheel and gauges - Gauges are not currently hooked up. - Operating gauges include oil pressure, temp, and tach. - No headliner or full-carpet. Wheels and Tires: - Front wheels are American Racing Torq-Thrust D - 15 x4.5 with 5.60-15 Firestone Bias Ply tires. - Rear wheels are vintage 15 x 8.5 aluminum slots with 28 x 9 - 15 Mickey Thompson slicks. Miscellaneous: - All brakes rebuilt with all new lines and new 7 inch booster and master cylinder under floor. - Vintage traction bars added - And they work well. - 12 gallon fuel cell located in trunk. - Battery is located under dash on passenger side against the firewall. - Original front suspension components inspected, greased, and new king pins installed. - Rear bumper is just 3 inch exhaust pipe with old Cragar S/S center caps on ends. This car drives well, looks good, and runs great. It's only made a few passes, but clicked off a best of 11.98 @ 109 and has a bit more in it. Should be a consistent high 11 second car with enough testing and tuning. Gets a lot of attention at car shows and at the track, and is really fun to tear around town in. Not a highway cruiser with steep gears, slicks, and open headers, but a lot of fun on backroads and at the track. There's probably more information I left out, so feel free to ask any questions.
