Vehicle Detail
I am $16,000 in to this bus and I need to sell because I am moving. I am selling my 1973 Volkswagen bay window bus. This bus is Pre-SMOG and as a 73 type 2 bay window bus "transporter" it was the first bus year to have a safe front bumper crash zone for the occupants. Nice. It is a type 2 van with a type IV motor. The 1.7L dual carb moves this thing around well. Starts right up every time and drives. I have dumped a lot of money into it and have 7+ thousands in receipts for all the new parts on it.There is new weatherstripping for doors and windows. There are a lot of new parts on this bus including: a new Bosch starter, the steering drag link, the front emblem, Front door seals and chrome, headliner rods, New modern 3 Pt. retractable seat belts for front + 3 New Lap Belts for rear, Tail lights, knobs, Ignition switch, glove box, glove box handle, door handles, Engine cover handle, a Sweet Euro 2 piece sliding window behind the driver for lots of fresh air which allowed me to delete the old vent windows in the rear improving security and rust prevention. New tint for the 5 windows behind the front ... and more. I had the motor serviced by a shop here in Oceanside,CA. They put new lifter tubes, new clutch, rebuilt dual carbs. The new paint is a 2 stage cherry red. The collision shop here in Oceanside block sanded , primed, painted and cleared the van. Come check it out anytime. It has always been a California car and is crash free and almost completely rust free. The only rust is in bottom of nearest middle seat floor mount and is minor and on the underside. Nothing major!!!!! Body=done. The car spent most of its life in dry Southern California desert. All paperwork is in order and ready to transfer ownership. Needs a few things to be a completely restored bus. Headliner material(have rods), carpet/flooring. front brake rebuild. School is forcing sale. Come get one heck of a nice bus for a good deal less than it took me to build. Sold As-Is. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Send me a message if you have further questions and if you want I will make myself available for a phone chat, texting or Ebay messaging conversation to answer any questions.
