I have a 1981 Jeep CJ-7 up for a no reserve auction. This Jeep has an exceptional running gear in it. The engine does not rattle, leak or smoke and fires up the 1st time everytime. The 4 wheel drive, transmission and transfer case all work as they should. The Jeep has power steering and manual disc brakes. The steering is pretty tight and actually drives decent. The front seats are great. The back seat is torn at the threads. I guess from dry rotted threads. Carpet is pretty good also. Lights work, gauges work. It has a good hard-top and doors with the windows rolling up and down as they should. I changed the speedometer to get it working, so the mileage is really unknown. The title had 122,000, but I don't know exact. I do know it runs excellent. It has 31X10.50x15 all terrain tires with 95% tread on them, but they are showing some dry rot. The all hold air fine, but have some dry-rot. I put a new battery, starter, plugs and gas tank on the Jeep, along with an oil change and top off all the fluids to get it going after sitting in a barn in Graham County North Carolina for several years. Graham County is known for its moonshine and is referenced several times on the hit series "Moonshiners". Undoubtedly from the rust spots, this Jeep has seen the back roads and off road of the County for sure. The Jeep has rust issues and in my opinion is not worth restoring as the price reflects. It would be a good hunting vehicle or farm vehicle, but would have to have some work to be roadworthy. It has brakes and will stop, but mechanically that's really all that needs attention. The brakes actually feel like they are holding a bit when you are driving. I will say again, the Jeep has rust. I have another fender for the drivers side that is solid that goes with the Jeep. Please look at the pics close. It has rust in the tub and it also has some rust thru at the rear of the frame, which is common for these older Jeeps. The price on this Jeep is cheap. You can buy it cheaper than an atv and go just the same and stay dry and warm on your hunting trips or off-roading. Ask any questions and I will do my best to answer.
