Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE! 100% Ready for Race Track, Autocross or Street. Title is Repaired for hail damage. Have title in hand, it should be registrable in all 50 states. IMPORTANT: This car is currently setup for tall skinny drivers between 5'11" - 6'3" tall. It's a very safe setup for anyone who is around 6' tall, but will require some fabrication if you are shorter. The Kirkey seats are only 15" wide. 1999 Mazda Miata 70k original Miles 5 speed manual with LSD Diff Repaired title due to hail damage (all panels are original on this car, it's never even been in a fender bender) Hail damage was NOT fixed and is still visible (hard top has no hail damage) This car is for someone who needs their track car to be street legal, as it passes emissions and VA inspection no problem, or someone who wants to turn the car into a race car (Car currently has a VA state Inspection and passed emissions in Feb, still has catalytic converter). I've tracked it at 3-5 events per year since 2013, with the goal of racking up track time as cheaply as possible. I bought a 968 race car for SP3 racing so the Miata has to go. Here is a video of the car at Watkins Glenn in June of 2015 with the Potomac Porsche Club in White Group (other videos in my channel): youtube.com/watch?v=zQdiHeKrfdU The modifications list and maintenance list is extensive, and I really don't feel like putting it all down. You can tell from the video that the car goes/turns/brakes better than quite a few of the Porsche's in the White run group...that should say enough. Here are the basics: Jackson Racing M45 Supercharger with PC Pro fuel and timing controller (new coupler and synthetic oil fall 2013) JR Headers and muffler (stock cat) Trunk Mounted Water Injection (injected pre and post supercharger for maximum cooling of charge air and the supercharger itself) Basic weight reduction (no PS/AC/soft top) Corner balanced and track alignment May 2015 (2278lbs) Full interior still, radio sounds great:) Flying Miata Track Pack Vmaxx adjustable coilovers and sway bars (installed Nov 2013) DTC 60 front/DTC 30 Rear pads, cooling ducts and Stainless Lines (tons of meat left on all 4 pads) Always use good synthetic racing fluids in everything (engine, diff, trans) 15x9 TRM wheels with 225/45/15 RA1 tires (more than 50% tread, easily another 10-15 full weekends) Safety Modifications Include: Hard Dog Ace Roll Bar (SCCA Legal) Factory Hard Top (very good condition) 6 Point G-Force Harnesses (manufactured Nov 2013) 15" Kirkey Aluminum Racing Seats Bolted directly to floor (installed Nov 2013) Daikei Steering Hub with NRG Deep Dish Alcantera Wheel Halon Fire Extinguisher manufactured 2015 Car still has 3 point harnesses installed for street use and I have OEM steering wheel if you need it for inspection. Extras: 4 - 15x6.5 SSR super lightweight racing wheels with BFG Rivals (pretty much no tread) 4 - New Rotors (2 rear 2 front) 1 - Set rear DTC 30 Racing Pads 1 - Timing Belt Kit 3 - Oil Filters 1 - OEM Steering Wheel with Airbag 1 - small 285 mm deep dish steering wheel The Bad: *The exterior paint is pretty terrible (except for the hard top, which looks great), it's faded and has peeling clear coat. Never bothered me as I like to look as ratty as possible when I'm passing $50k cars:) *Burns about a quart of oil during a track weekend depending on the track. This isn't terrible, and since compression is still good I've never worried about it. I believe it's due to stuck oil control rings on cyl 4, which is common on Miatas. That's honestly it. The interior is actually in great shape and original, minus part of the door handle that I cut out because my elbow would hit during left turns. Mechanically this car is solid, it's a freaking absolute blast to drive and plenty quick. It shifts perfectly in every gear, clutch is solid with zero slip, A/F ratio is bang on in all situations, throttle response is great. I bought the car with 57k miles in 2013 and drive it on the street pretty regularly, so it probably has 2-3k track miles which is nothing for these cars. It has very neutral handling with massive grip, lots of torque down low to pull you out of corners and enough grunt to get you close to 130mph on most east coast tracks. The supercharger setup is rock solid, never had to change a belt and it's obviously proven itself to be a very solid system (much more reliable than turbo systems, roots blowers are bullet proof). I have literally never had an issue with this car (knock on wood), besides normal maintenance. I have people coming up to me after almost every run session asking me what the hell I have going on with this car, it surprises everyone. Good luck with the bidding! PM me for a walk around video. I'd rather not deal with shipping the car and the extras, so please don't bid if you aren't 100% confident in that process.
