Vehicle Detail

Last year of the "classic 900" convertibles and true Swedish cars, assembled in Finland. Finished in the beautiful gloss black with black top. The top was professionally replaced 1-1/2 years ago and the rear window was aligned perfectly with no sag typical of improper installations. Behind the seats, a German windscreen deflector cuts wind and noise. The rare, 3-piece parade boot is also included with its case. The engine is very strong and does not burn oil. It uses Mobil 1 oil, with Bosch filters. The car was recently smog tested with excellent results in low hydrocarbons (see printout). A smog test report can be a good indicator of engine condition. Turbo easily spools into the orange. Recent new Bosch fuel pump, Hepu water pump and antifreeze flush. The suspension is in good condition and front end was rebuilt with new KYB shocks, SAAB rotors, TRW ball joints, TRW tie rod ends and Timken wheel bearings. Front brakes are Ferodo ceramic (70% remaining) and rears are semi-metallic (also about 70%). Front and rear tires are about 50% tread and evenly worn. Recent 4 wheel alignment. A common problem with classic Saabs is tearing of the rear Watt’s linkage bracket. To prevent this from happening, I boxed, welded and reinforced the bracket. The 5-speed transmission was rebuilt, according to the previous owner, but he had no receipts. It shifts well except sometimes downshifting into 1st. I engage the gearshift partially into 2nd prior to 1st, which works great. The clutch is strong, with a new clutch hydraulic line. Full synthetic Redline MTL oil replaced the standard hypoid. I just converted/updated the entire A/C system from R12 to 134A refrigerant with all new HBNR O-rings and a new receiver/dryer assembly. It blows cold! The alternator was also converted from rubber to urethane bushings for better alignment and durability. The body is in good condition and I would rank the interior a 6 or 7 because the previous owner had a dog L. But the car was never smoked in, and it has new carpet mats and recovered door panels. The registration was just paid in August and a smog test was completed then. I would not hesitate to drive this car across country. Here is a great article on classic SAAB reliability: http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/2006-12-06-million-mile-saab_x.htm These cars are going up in value and within 2 years will be strong collectors items but most importantly, they are very fun and reliable. It has no rust, being a California car and I frequently get compliments on it. Parts are reasonable with lots of aftermarket suppliers and the registration was just paid. I can be reached at 530-305-7893 7am-10pm PST to answer any questions and can send add’l photos if needed. I can also help coordinate shipping from Sacramento (Midwest is approx. $600 and East coast about $1000).
