Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1966 Jaguar E-Type Coupe. (XKE) This is a project car and has been dismantled for restoration. I took the car instead of cash for assisting in the sale of several other cars when a friend passed away. I am in the middle of restoring an additional XKE and will not be able to complete this project as originally planned. This is a wonderful starting point and has the potential of becoming a prime example of the marque. If you follow the E-Types, it is apparent that the values continue to climb; especially the Series I cars. This particular car has the negative ground and alternator of the 4.2 series and is in great condition. There are a large quantity of records that will accompany the car and shows a rebuild in 1993. The records also show other work that was done at the same time. As mentioned above, the car is pretty much rust free, except below the battery area. I have not removed any paint in the area, but feel confident that a small patch at the bottom is all that is required. All of the drivetrain appears to be in good condition and just needs clean up and refurbishing of any worn components like ball joints and brake calipers/pads. The front suspension looks to be in good condition as well and after a thorough cleaning could go back on the car. All rubber on the car needs to be replaced. The car is on a dolly in front, but rolls easily. The front "picture frame" is mounted backwards intentionally to keep from bending the cooling fan bracket. There are six wire wheels and tires that go with the car and all are serviceable. Again, this is a project car and while I mentioned that the gas tack and door hardware is missing, there may be other items I have missed. The car is sold "as is" with no guarantees or warrantees. Anyone interested in the car should ask questions and, if possible, inspect the car before bidding. There is a reserve on the car that I will not reveal, so please don't ask. The car will have to be picked up and it might be possible to put the front arms on and make it a roller. A $1000.00 deposit through Pay Pall and completion of payment in 7 days will complete the sale. The title will be released on clearance of the funds.
