Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1979 Z-28, I obtained this car from the original owner after it sat in his garage since 1989 This car has recently gone through a full frame off restoration. We have all the documentation from the date the car was purchased(December 1978) from McCloskey Chevrolet in Cincinnati Ohio. Included are the bill of sale, build sheet and dealer delivery sheet. Body: The car was completely disassembled and taken down to bare metal. All of the original body panels were in excellent condition, the car had no rust or rot. The front and rear bumpers were hot tanked and primed. After priming and blocking the car, the body was given 3 coats of Sherwin Williams base coat and 3-4 coats of clear. The body was wet sanded with 2500 and buffed to a high gloss finish. The body work is absolutely flawless. Over $10,000 was spent on body work and paint. Engine: Since the car had been sitting for so long I decided to remove the motor and completely rebuild it. I had all new internal components installed. Crane cam, double roller timing gears and chain, Crane roller tip rockers, push rods, seals 3 angle valve job, ect. The carb was sent to National Carburators for a full rebuild. All the accessories are original to the car and were completely rebuilt as well. New ceramic coated Walker exhaust. Transmission: The transmission is the original turbo 350 3speed that came with the car. It was removed and rebuilt. Suspension, Frame & Brakes: The suspension and frame were removed, sandblasted and powder coated. Energy Suspension bushings were installed on all the suspension components and frame. New rear leaf springs and KYB gas shocks were installed. The brake pads, calipers, drums etc. are all AC Delco.Timkin inner and outer bearings were used on the front spindles. Stainless steel brake lines from Inline Tube. New master cylinder and brake booster. Wheels: The wheels in the photos are 80 Z-28 wheels, this was my personal preference. The original 79 Z28 wheels will be sold with the car. They were glass beaded and painted in base coat clear coat to match the body color. New BF Goodrich Radial TA's all around. Interior: The seat covers were made by Auto Custom Leathers, they fit perfect. The carpet is from ACC and the door panels are from PUI. Everything fits perfect. The headliner and visors were recovered in the correct GM Cognac material. All the hard plastic and trim were dyed with SIM Camel/Tan. Feel free to contact me with any questions, 401-965-0341
