Up for auction is a running 1972 Suzuki GT550 2 stroke triple. This is the first year for the GT550, and just like the GT750 it's the only year with the double leading front brake. So it has dual drum brakes on the front, and the system is fully operational as well, plus low maintenance. I recently purchased the bike, and I have a clear Michigan title that is NOT in my name. It is signed off by the previous owner. Video of the bike running http://youtu.be/LEHbo40mIx0 This is a running and riding motorcycle with only 6885 miles showing on the working speedo/odometer, the tach works perfect as well. The bike fires right up and after clearing it out at little comes down to a nice idle and is very responsive. It pulls very hard in each gear and easily revs to redline without hesitating or stumbling, clutch feels great and doesn't slip. Deffinetly a very powerful bike especially for the year, and it sounds great. The seat is nice and has a small pin hole, but otherwise perfect. Bike is not missing anything that I can see, and has not been modified in any way. Inside of tank looks pretty nice and hasn't been coated and doesnt need to be coated in my opinion. All the lights work properly, neutral light comes and goes at an idle, brake light works with front and rear brake, horn works, battery looks pretty new and starts the bike. Everything feels good on the bike, clutch pull is easy, throttle easy and snappy, rolls easily and rides nice, except the fact that it needs tires. Oil injection is hooked up and operating, has premix in gas tank as well. All 3 cylinders seem to put out the same amount of smoke, engine sounds really nice, with no odd noises, and has tons of compression and has no engine oil leaks The blue paint is not original, but has original style striping, the paint is dull and not the best quality, but ok if you just plan on riding it as it sits. The tires are dry rotted and need replaced. Right side, side cover clip on frame is broken off, just a simple plastic clip that can be replaced. All 3 exhaust pipes drip an oil/gas/sludge mixture out of the bottom drain holes after running. Obviously needs carbs cleaned, and ridden a distance to burn out the excess mixture. Carbs drip from overflows, especially the center one plus center carb bowl gasket leaking. Carbs simply need to be cleaned, new bowl gaskets and needle/seats, then they will be fine. Rt side pipe has some rash on underside see picture. Electric Start works but when bike is cold the starter sounds a little rough, and seems to kick back a little, but easily starts the bike when warm. Chrome all has some pitting, rear fender has a wavy-finish, front fender has dent and rash at a spot and spokes and some other hardware look to have been brush painted with silver paint. Headlight bucket looks to have been touched up with blue paint which got overspray on some wiring/cables behind bucket, easily wipes off with brake clean. Tool kit is missing Buyer pays for shipping and all arrangements must be made by the buyer. Bike has to be picked up at my house. $250.00 deposit through paypal within 24 hours of auction end. Payment in cash if picking up in person, and if having it shipped then payment with a money order/cashiers check and once it fully clears it can be picked up by your shipper.
