Vehicle Detail
July, 2 update: REDUCED to $42500 obo. Most realistically priced hotrod on the market today. Last auction resulted in a no show / no sale, site unseen high bidder, and that is a shame. I strongly encourage you to come see it in person, it's worth it, not a time waster. I am very proud of this car and it shows even better in person than in pictures. No surprises here. Priority given to offers made from actual buyers who have taken the time to come see in person or at least contacted me for more information vs. those made sight unseen, late in the evening after a glass of wine... or three :) Beautiful 75 GT coupe recreated just like you would have seen on any given club day at Laguna Seca in the 70's. Fresh build and very well sorted. A total blast to drive...or track. Car started life in sunny, dry California and never left. kept completely original by two long term owners until time of build, which started 2 years ago and was completed a few days ago (pic of original car just prior to build included in photo link). Car has never been tracked, either prior to or after the build. Finished in a glass out, 2 stage period correct Signal Yellow, with mostly original black interior, the car is beyond attention getting. DRD purchased this car as an uncompleted project fresh from the paint shop, needing put back together, sorted, and styled. Starting with the mechanicals, the car was received with the following history (since records could not be found by the prior owner, most of the history has been confirmed via a PPI from Honest Engine of midtown Sacramento, Ca. They also completed a full service with valve adjustment. Leak down numbers are 150, 150, 145, 155, 155 & 150. Since this service was ordered by and completed for DRD, a private PPI inspection is also welcomed). ...within the last 10K miles: Clutch (confirmed) Brakes (confirmed) Bilstien shocks & struts (confirmed) Rear axles, universal joints and bearings (confirmed) Alternator (confirmed) Oil fed timing chain tensioners (confirmed) Shift linkage universal joint (confirmed) ...within the last 40K miles Carrera Valve covers (confirmed) Airbox blow-by (pop-off) valve (confirmed) ....within the last 80K miles Engine rebuild, new case with time certs, pistons, rings bearings etc (only confirmed by good oil pressure, compression check and great running driving motor) total miles on car are 149,759 Upon having the PPI done, car was taken to Franks Automotive, Sacramento, Ca. to replace a cracked airbox and all related replacement parts. ...once back at DRD, the car got: New manual throttle bushing Fender flares adjusted and seals added, front and rear bumpers fitted New rear tail light lenses New motor sound pad and motor detail New 16x9 Black Porsche wheels all the way around, fitted with new Bridgstone Potenza RE-11 225/50 & 245/45 ultra high performance tires Longer front studs and 8mm spacers Rear spacer adaptors New full period correct race livery Vintage period Recaro sport seat (original matching driver seat include, has a 2" seam split at bolster) Rear 4 point cage Vintage period Momo Prototipo steering wheel with quick release hub New Battery New assorted seals and body gaskets ...and multiple other items needed to set the posture and attitude just right Car runs, drives and shifts fantastic without issue. Stainless headers and exhaust note are simply magnificent. This car is turnkey ready to enjoy. Other items to mention, H4 headlights, OEM radio delete cover, recovered dash which retains it's flawless original speaker grill, new headliner, new visors, new windshield and rear window rubber, excellent stainless trim, glass, and body fitment. Car was a no accident, very straight, solid driver to start with. Paint is two stage and while not maybe show quality, very, very nicely applied. Ducktail, fenders, and flares are all GT Racing. Everything works as it should (no heat due to headers replacing heat exchangers, but system is fully in tact otherwise). All period decals and PORSCHE side stripes are vinyl so they can be removed easily (steam removal is best). Looks very striking also in solid yellow with no livery. As already noted, very rust free car to start with. Front pan fabricated and reinforced due to battery corrosion from storage. Just about the neatest Porsche you can own and have fun with on the market today, while not so nice that the investment is too great to risk driving it! I am sure I am forgetting many attributes of this lovely car, so feel free to ask all questions. I don't usually take on projects like this, but as you will see below, the car could not be ignored! Awesome, just awesome car. Literature included: January 1975 Panorama 1975 sales brochure 1975 Laguna Seca Camel GT series race day brochure 1975 Technical Spec book 1975 Drivers Manual and cover 80's Stoddard Sales Catalog 1965-1987 Porsche repair manual Also included, white magnetic #74 door circles, original spare, tool bag with partial tools, cover, original driver seat, jack plate and copies of all recent receipts and PPI.
