Vehicle Detail

1968 Buick Skylark GS 400 Convertible numbers matching all original car with 55,976 original miles. I bought this car in 1994, planning to drive it daily. Soon after purchase, it was put in a garage to be stripped and repainted, where it has been kept since. The car has not been started since 2000. Some cosmetic parts are off, but I do have them, and they will go with the purchase. There are also additional parts such as an extra steering column and console (probably more in random boxes) that will go too. I bought the car from a family member, and he bought extra parts when he came across them. The owner's manual and other documentation is also included. I have the free and clear title in hand. I do not have the money (or the means) to restore the car myself. The car is not currently running, and I do not have the means to move it myself. The car is located in Saint Jo, TX, which is about an hour north from the DFW area. Buyer will be responsible for picking up the car, I will not be able to ship it. Feel free to contact me with any questions, and I will answer them to the best of my ability. On Jun-28-15 at 16:04:57 PDT, seller added the following information: 1968 Buick Skylark GS 400 Convertible numbers matching all original car with 55,976 original miles. Feel free to contact me with any questions, and I will answer them to the best of my ability. I am having a lot of the same questions, so I will try to answer them now:1. Rust - There is surface rust in some areas (see the passenger side pics), but no significant rust. 2. Hood - The hood is original, but a hole was cut in for a hood tach (the tach is not factory).3. Moving it - the car will roll when the front tires are aired. I do not have an air compressor. 4. Engine - The car was running perfectly when it was last started in 2000. It has not been started since. (Obviously if it was running then, that means the engine was not seized up at that time. Additionally, it does not turn over since it hasn't been started in 15 years.) Also, my best guess is that it would run fine with a tune up, new battery, and new fluids, but I will not guarantee anything because I have not started it in 15 years.5. Shipping - I will not ship it because it doesn't start, and I do not own a car hauler or trailer. If you arrange for someone to pick it up to ship, that is fine. Otherwise, you will need to pick the car up. I will be out of town from July 5-13, but will be happy to hold the car a reasonable amount of time for you to make arrangements to pick up.6. Extra parts - There are extra parts because the man I bought it from collected Buicks. He bought parts when he found them, not because anything was wrong with the ones in the car. I have no use for the extra parts so they go with the car. (I am taking more pictures of the extra parts and will send them to anyone who is interested in the car.)7. Bumper and chrome-The front bumper is there (It is on the ground under the back of the car and can be seen in one pic). There are a lot of chrome pieces that I will take pics of, and again send to those interested (I believe everything is there, but I make no guarantees since I am really not sure about what all was on the car to begin with.)On Jun-28-15 at 16:35:30 PDT, seller added the following information: *Please note that the front fenders and hood are not bolted down on the car. This may make the body appear not to be straight. The car has never been in an accident as far as I know (No bondo, etc.) From what I understand, I am the 4th owner, the 3rd was my ex-father-in-law.On Jun-30-15 at 10:02:30 PDT, seller added the following information: MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE HOOD - I am still getting questions about the hood. I have verified that this is the original hood. The 68 had the cowl hood scoop and chrome strips running vertically down from the scoop. These were on the hood before they were removed to strip and prime the hood. If you look in the extra parts pic, the cowl scoop is clearly visible toward the bottom. There is a hole cut in the hood because someone added a hood tach. I am not seeing the tach in the additional parts, but it is not original to the car anyway. I hope this clarifies any confusion. Thanks for all your questions and interest.
