1980 BMW 633 CSi. Automatic, only 42,000 miles, Sunroof, Air (not functional), green exterior, black interior Everybody would call this a barn find, except the car had no barnIt sat outside in the Florida for many years.The original metallic green paint has faded together with rust showing on the bottom of the doors. The interior, including the dash, needs to be replaced.The owner drove the car daily after getting it from his mother, she bought it new in 1980.After sitting for many years, he decided in 2012 to bring the car back to life, installing new tires, cleaned out the fuel system, plus had ignition and electrical work done to the tune of $5,000. (I have receipts showing a long list of parts replaced). He had planned to redo the body and interior, but other priorities took over. The car sat in his driveway for another 2 years, being occasionally driven to keep it alive and kicking.I took it over last year and put it on a trickle charger in my garage, but, same as before, I do not find the time to tackle this project and need the garage space.The car runs and shifts well, the panels are straight and undamaged other than the rust mentioned above.The amazing part is that the car has only 42,000 miles (confirmed by the shop doing all the work)! Different approaches could be taken for this project:1) Restoring the car (mostly body and interior)2) Use it as a drive-train donor for another solid car needing engine and transmission3) Continue to improve the car mechanically and drive it as a "Rat-rod"4) Make money parting it out Please do not waste your and my time if you do not intend to go through with the deal.The car needs a lot of work, inside and out, but all the new parts which have been installed,including brand new tires and a 42,000 mile drive train, makes this a worthwhile project The car can be driven onto a trailer, longer trips are your decision after test driving the car.since the car sat for a long time after being mechanically brought up-to-date.Happy bidding.
