Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are bidding on a highly modified 1979 Honda CB500 motorcycle. This bike has a clean / clear title in my name ready to hand over to you once full payment is made. As you can see the bike isn't your average cx500. Just installed brand new Mikuni Carbs / Intakes / Pod Filters (These are Murray's Carb kit that add very noticeable HP and Torque). With this carburetor setup the bike runs much stonger than stock and idles great. The rear suspension consists of a mono shock from a cbr F4 fitted with very strong mounts. The front suspension is from a 2007 GSXR. The orignal comstar front wheel was fitted with GSXR brake rotors and all adapted to fit the forks & brake calipers. The gas tank is from a mid 70's Yamaha enduro. The seat was custom made, the seat / rear suspension mount was also custom made and powder coated. The entire frame was sandblasted and powder coated. Custom exhaust exits into brand new dual DanMoto brand mufflers, the exhaust sounds great. Many new parts include, Pro Taper brand handlebars, front master cylinder, brake and clutch levers, mirrors, cell phone holder, tachometer, front and rear blinkers and tail light, ignition switch, rear brake lever, electronic flasher relay, handlebar clamps. Other custom made parts include, aluminum radiator overflow, license plate & tail light holder, aluminum headlight mount, battery mount, footpegs. The valve and clutch covers have been polished. The electrical system was modified in order to hide many of the wires. The old fuse block was removed and replaced with modern fuse holders. The battery holds a charge and starts the bike easily. The tires have good tread. The bike rides straight and smooth, the front brakes are almost too good. This is a no reserve auction.... I think this is the most exciting part of the build process for me... to see how much the world thinks my bikes are worth. It's important for you to know that I am a fabricator by trade and a very skilled welder so you can rest assured that any chassis modifications were completed properly. There are video's of it running, driving and walkaround below... as you view them, consider that I'm 6'0 tall and 215 lbs. The seat is rather high but it works fine for me. Noteworthy: The speedometer that you see in the pictures is not included (it's my cell phone). The new paint on the gas tank isn't perfect and the bike does have nicks and scratches here and there... nothing unusual for a bike this old, I would classify it as a nice driver. There is an oil leak from the upper portion of the rear engine case, it's not bad but it does leave a small spot or two of oil on the garage floor after riding. It was my intention to ride it the rest of this season and fix it this winter. I check the oil level on a regular basis and with a little over 300 miles put on it I haven't had to add any oil yet. The rear tire has a very slow leak. The suspension could stand to be tuned as it's too soft for my liking. The rear drum brake makes some noise when you are coming to a slow stop. The bike does have a horn that works but I forgot to "beep" it in the video below. If the cops hassle you for no rear fender you can always attach one to the swingarm / suspension mount. Please see videos of the bike here: (you may have to copy and paste these links in your browser) https://youtu.be/woudKRmWM2o & https://youtu.be/wqcW1-NWRLY I encourage all interested parties to come and look at the bike prior to bidding, I am a busy guy but I will try to work with you in arranging a time for you to look at it as most evenings after 4pm I can be available. I need $2500 cash in my hand before anyone rides it although I'm expecting it to sell for more. I require a $500 down payment within 24 hours to my paypal account. Full payment must be made within 7 days of auction end by either cashiers check or cash in person. I will not accept paypal payments for the remainder. If you are having the bike shipped I'll expect that you make those arrangements. Once you arrange a shipping company you can have them contact me and I'll make the bike and title available for them to pick up (only after full payment is made of course). If you can't pick up the bike within 7 days I'll expect that you discuss this with me prior to bidding. Disclaimer: I've described this bike to the best of my ability, if I've missed or forgot something I won't be held responsible for this. Also remember, this bike is 36 years old and not something that just rolled off the showroom. There is no warantee expressed written or implied.
