This RAV starts in any weather, even far below zero, runs great, shifts well and gets 20 mpg in the city and 24 on the road. The four-wheel-drive works great in slow. Electrical accessories all work. No interior rips. Sears are like new. Headline is fine. Carpet has some salt stains. No rust. That's the good news. It has leaked oil since I bought it in 2011. I've replaced some gaskets but not the correct one. I keep it full of oil and it runs fine. The speedometer failed last fall. Replaced the sending unit and discovered one prong on the electrical connector was rusted off. It's stuck in the connector, which is part of the car's wiring harness. It's hard to get at so I haven't replaced the connector. I'll throw in an old GPS that shows speed. The AC worked until I disconnected a pipe while replacing the timing belt. It probably just needs a recharge. Timing belt is about 18 months old with 10,000 miles on it. Tires have lots of tread but are 15 years old. If I kept the car, I'd replace them. The front two have a slow leak. If you have a knack for making repairs, this would be a great car. The parts to get it up to speed would be cheap, but it wouldn't make sense to buy it and then pay a mechanic. Or you could drive it as-is and keep an eye on the oil level. It drives well and gets you where you need to go.
