Vehicle Detail
1988 Chevy Caprice Estate 9 passenger wagon. Good looking and driving station wagon. She runs very well, idols, accelerates and shifts smoothly. The engine is a 307, there are no noises or rattles. A/C blows very cold, and a few years ago was converted to the newer type refrigerant. The compressor is about a year old. The tires are a matched set and have about 80% remaining tread. She shows about 53000 on the odometer, but I'm certain that it's rolled over, so the actual mileage is 153k. The car is in nice condition and has been well maintained and cared for by myself and her previous owners. The paint which was done about 4 years ago, looks good and shines nicely. The wood paneling on the side and back of the car is in good shape as well, with a few flaws that have been touched up (pictured). The interior is very nice, the seats are in very good condition with just one dime size hole in the driver’s side lower section (pictured). The front and middle seats are velour, the third row, rear facing seat is vinyl. The headliner was replaced about a year ago, and the dash is free of cracks. The carpet "Federal Blue" is original and has faded over time, also shows some wear on the driver’s side. The brakes are newer, and the shocks are in good condition, the front end suspension is tight. All the lights, both exterior and interior work. The power windows. including the rear door work, although the front passenger door window is slower than the others. I have a stack of paperwork and receipts dating back many more years than I’ve had her that will be included with the car along with the original owner’s manual in the glove box. The few things that need attention are as follows: The original power antenna was replaced with a fixed mast type. The shop that installed it, spliced the new antenna wire into the old which has caused the radios reception to be poor. So, a new antenna is needed. The cruise control does not work. The rubber front filler panel between the grille and bumper has a couple of cracks in it and the rear exterior window sweeps (rubber seals) have gotten dried and cracked from the sun. The insurance on the car only costs me $102.00 for the entire year with Hagerty classic car insurance. That’s full coverage with a 10k value on the wagon. I’ve a number more photos of the wagon, if you’d like me to email them to you, let me know, but I’ll need a real email address as the photo file is too large to go through eBay’s mail system. We drove the wagon to Alabama and back last November without any issue. It was an awesome trip! If you’ve any questions, just shoot me an email and I’ll get back with you asap. If you’re local or even if you’re not and would like to see the wagon in person, let me know and we’ll work something out. Thanks much.
