Vehicle Detail
Beautiful example of one of the best in the classic Thunderbird line. This 1963 "Rocket" or "Bullet Bird" has a super straight body with absolutely no rust. Being a California car for all of its life, even the undercarriage is in wonderful rust-free condition. It has that "Mad Men" cool of the early sixties. It is a great car in fine running condition. I will work with you and your shipper to make sure it arrives to you in the US or Internationally. This is a "no surprises" car. Engine/Drivetrain Recent replacement of many parts including new exhaust manifolds and gaskets, oil seals and head gasket, freshened braking system, new tires, new dual exhaust system, rebuilt power steering pump and reservoir, conversion to alternator with high quality brackets, new carpeting and replacement of the transmission shift lever. ALL NEW ignition parts(coil, points, condensor, ignition wires, spark plugs, etc.) It has been recently painted and fitted with air adjustable shock absorbers on the rear end. The side-tilt steering wheel has been gone through and is in good working order. Original radio included but needs restoration. Original generator included also. Exterior The body has been recently gone over in preparation to painting. You will find NO bondo in the body. The color is a Mercedes Benz Graphite with a slight purple sheen. This color shows this sheen in different lights and is standard to this pigment. There are very, very few flaws in the body. It is exceptionally straight and you can see that in the photos It is near perfect. The chrome and bright-work on the exterior of the car are in good to excellent condition. The new Firestone tires have less than 100 miles on them. Interior The interior is black vinyl with the standard Thunderbird emblems. It is in need of a few repairs, very small stuff and can be fixed easily. The black carpet is new. The swing-away steering wheel has just been gone through and worn parts replaced. Thunderbird experts out there will be happy to know- the shift detent is brand new. It positively locks into all gears like the day it rolled off the assembly line. The chrome on the steering wheel is in good condition. The windows do not show any de-lamination or crazing. Its comfy and the seating position is very adjustable(for a wide range of body types). The reason I include this information is that some classic autos are quite cramped for the larger driver. Overall, I will just say it is a very decent driver and could attain concours level restoration with all of the hard/expensive work and parts completed.
