Vehicle Detail

I have had this car for 12 years and didn't drive it much at all (less than a hundred miles). Bought it out of La Habra, Ca. Judging by the condition of the car I believe it spent its life in Ca. (still has black plate on rear). I always wanted a Jag, bought one and decided it was too expensive to restore. Took me 12 years to decide to let someone else finish the job. I started it regularly, changed oil recently but really did not get to know the car very well. I have no idea whether or not this is a numbers matching car. Not even sure on where to look. This 1969 XKE starts right up and runs good. The 4 speed transmission shifts smooth and doesn't seem to have any issues. Mechanically the Jag drives good. It doesn't want to idle at 800-900 RPM as it should but idles around 1200 RPM. You could drive it as you restore it. Needs a lot of interior work including seat covers, headliner and carpet. The willow green paint is a good looking job but not show quality (it is still a presentable looking car). The fit on the doors and bonnet look good with no apparent misfit. The chrome needs some attention as it is crinkled, peeling and has some surface rust. The passenger side turn signal is broken. I believe all the parts are there to put the car back together (outside and inside mirrors, chrome around back window etc.). I am not a mechanic and don't profess to be one or the car would be restored, but if there are any questions I would be glad to try to get an answer. I am also not a Jag expert but will take more pics of anything that needs to be looked at more closely. It would be best to see the car in person and not take someone else's opinion about an issue, but I realize that may not be possible. I will be as truthful as possible when answering a question about the car. All email questions will be answered between 6:00-8:00 pm ET.
