Vehicle Detail
This car has been in our family since day 1 back in late 1993. No shady history here. It was my great aunt's 11th and final Buick. She kept it until 2009 when I bought it from her to keep as a backup car for us. Almost always garaged, and covered when not. The body is in excellent condition, with the only noticeable flaws being a very slight impression in the front passenger door's chrome molding and some peeling on the front bumper black rub guard. The interior is pretty darn perfect with the exception of the headliner (replaced 5 years ago) bubbling up around the back window (see pic). Never smoked in. Everything works that I can think of EXCEPT the orange shift indicator (in the gauge cluster - broken off) and the A/C which needs a charge every other Summer due to a slow leak (currently out of freon). This was the first year for R134a freon, so that helps with cost of charges. Also, the ABS light has been on for years - I'm told it's the module - the brakes themselves are fine. Tires are about 5 years old and only have about 2K miles on them. The car has been used very little over the last 2 years, which is why I'm selling. Car seems to run OK, but with a slightly rough idle. It has fairly new plugs, wires, battery, neutral safety switch, radiator, throttle position sensor, water pump, and ignition coil pack, so maybe it's just from lack of use. If you have moderate mechanical skills, this could be a very nice car that would last for years to come. NO ZERO FEEDBACK BIDDERS. Please don't ask if you can drive this car long distance without issue. It is 22 years old, has done its share of sitting lately, and I'm no fortune teller. That'd be at your own risk. All of the legal jargon that typically applies to these listings applies here. Car is for sale locally, so I have the right to end the auction any time. Sensible questions are more than welcome. Thanks! On Jun-07-15 at 09:59:30 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that I bought some new headliner material and headliner spray glue for this car last year. They accompany the car if the winner wants them.On Jun-08-15 at 12:16:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had several questions regarding the rough idle/running condition. My personal opinion is that it MIGHT soon need a new "crankshaft position sensor" based on the rough idle and occasional long crank times (intermittent). It's hard to say, specifically, since I don't use this car much. I can say that no dash-mounted engine service lights are on, but sometimes those don't light up until actual component failure. On Jun-11-15 at 18:52:30 PDT, seller added the following information: I dropped car at mechanic's tonight to have rough running/sporadic hard starting issue diagnosed, and hopefully resolved. I may pull listing if I don't hear back from him by midday Friday, then relist car when I get it back from him next week (repaired and ready to go). Sorry for any potential inconvenience. Thanks.
