1973 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible This Ghia was sold to us as original miles, 61,899, with no reason to think otherwise. It has a favorable color & has had a repaint to original color some years ago. It looks like new outer rocker panels were installed & the inner rockers were not redone, they show rust ; I think they will need to be addressed in the future. The floor pans are good & solid. The doors sag a bit & will need new hinge pins also. The car has had some rust repair done in the past, like under the spare tire, it is solid now, some work has been done in there, you can't see anything from the outside. The paint job still shows very good, with small nicks & dings, in a few places, but nothing you can see more than 10 feet away. The interior seats have had new bottom seat buns installed with original seats skins put back on. The interior is in very good condition with one small tear in the driver's backrest. The carpet is also in pretty good shape. The interior dash has just been upgraded with a new wood like finish & new top & bottom dash pads, looks great. The 4-speed shifter works great, but will pop out of reverse, if you don't hold it down in place. All the glass is in very good condition & the back window & clamps are too. The top is fine, might even be original, no tears or rips. New mirrors were installed & some new emblems. The engine is "B" series, it looks & runs great. Has just been cleaned & detailed to look as new. Also, a brand new EMPI carburetor was recently installed. The tires are newer, 205-70-R15 & a bit over sized for safer driving & handling, at times the rear will rub with extra weight in the car. Overall a great classic, in "Driver" condition. Really a fun car to drive & major head turner.....Hard to come by car at a reasonable price. There is a "Free & Clear" New York Title. The car is being sold "AS IS WHERE IS" with no guarentee.
