1965 Shelby GT350 Tribute, 289, 4 speedThis original Texas rust free, 289 C-code, fastback has been transformed into a Shelby GT350. The body was completely stripped down and finished in Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes. This GT350 adds a touch of an R code with the fiberglass lower valance, and side scoops. The new 15” Cragar Eliminator 500 wheels (give a feel of the original Shelby wheels) have new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. A steel hood was used to avoid long term issues of warping and the body has all new chrome, trim, door handles and lenses. An original Dearborn built car, this undercarriage, from a new gas tank to the front suspension, has been correctly detailed as you can see from the pictures.The 289 has been completely rebuilt and is equipped with a Edelbrock F4B intake with a Holley carb that was matched to a Edelbrock Performer cam. The 289 was upgraded to a Pertronics Flame Thrower, pointless ignition and is appointed with the finned aluminum Cobra valve covers and correct air cleaner. It also has new radiator, hoses and heater core. The new dual exhausts start with Tri-Y headers and exits out the rear valance with chrome tips. The 289 is coupled to a top loader 4 speed with a new flywheel, pressure plate and clutch assembly.The interior has been completely redone, with new front seat foam, dash pad, gauge bezel, carpet headliner and weather stripping. The 1965 GT350 dash pod houses correct reproduction Carol Shelby tach and oil pressure gauge. Completing the look is a reproduction Shelby steering wheel and racing seat belts. As the originals came, it is now a radio delete, but all wiring is present, with a new speaker and antenna for an easy conversion if you desire.For driveability, a completely rebuilt factory power steering has been added along with new front and rear springs as well as new KYB gas shocks. The braking system was upgraded to a dual reservoir master cylinder and is equipped with front disc brakes. Call with any questions 847 274 4271
