This auction is for a 1971 GMC 1500 LWB pickup truck. This classic pickup starts and runs great. Chevrolet 350 engine, Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, factory cast iron intake manifold, finned Corvette aluminum valve covers, recurved HEI distributor and long-tube headers. TH350 transmission and 12 bolt rear differential. Power brakes and power steering. All gauges and lights work. Front and rear chrome bumpers. Grant steering wheel, Dual AM/FM/CD radio and B&M Megashifter. It has brand new American Racing Torque Thrust “D” wheels (15x7 front, 15x8.5 rear) and Mastercraft Avenger GT P255/70-15 tires. I would not recommend driving any 44 year old vehicle that many miles, not even a restored vehicle, without having it thoroughly checked out first. I've had no mechanical issues with the truck though. Besides oil & filter changes every 3 months, all I've changed is the thermostat, down to a 160 degree. And the battery. I've only driven it to Ruidoso, New Mexico and back to El Paso a few times. That's about 280 miles round trip with absolutely no issues. And I drive it daily to work and to local cruises. I had a bad experience with a restored 1978 Trans Am I bought in San Antonio, Texas a few years ago. I flew over there and tried to drive it back to El Paso. The engine blew within 300 miles and I had to pay for a transporter and an engine rebuild. Now all of the vehicles I buy get shipped to me. Thank you.
