Vehicle Detail
I bought this car as a shell in Sept of 2012 and since have spent numerous hours and dollars making it the best driver possible. I started by giving the car a fresh coat of paint, even though it's not perfect it's a great 10 footer. The interior has been refurbished with new seat covers, headliner, and trim pieces. The suspension has been replaced with numerous new parts and rides as smooth as an old bug is supposed to. The car has gone through a couple of engine setups and the current being the most dependable and best for a daily driver. The trans is a bus trans and shifts flawlessly and doesn't even have any slack in the shifter like most vintage VW's. The tires have only been driven around town and have fantastic tread. Pros: Straight body with no signs of previous accidents Very minimal rust since it has been a southern car The motor/trans work flawlessly New tires, brakes, suspension Interior has new seat skins, headliner, and carpet Clean title in my name Chicks love vintage VW's The hood is only Plasti-Dip so it can easily be peeled back to yellow Solid pan with good heater channel Cons: Very minor surface rust under the paint in a couple of spots (Not bad at all but thought that I should mention it) Heater tubes are currently not connected (Very easy to reinstall) Door cards are not perfect and show minor wear (Very unnoticeable) Front bumper shows minor wear as can be seen in pics (New front bumpers are cheap) Overall this is a great running bug that attracts attention wherever it is driven. I would feel safe driving this car anywhere. Delivery within a reasonable distance is possible. I want to keep the car but the driveway and garage are getting full and it's time for other projects.
