Vehicle Detail

I set the Buy It Now price VERY reasonable if you want to simply avoid all the bidding hassle and get a nice CB400F......just sayin. If you follow these CB400F bikes you will realize that the BIN price is very fair. If you look at my feedback you will see that I have bought / sold many bikes and ebay and deal fairly, and have had the same from everyone so far. This is a totally NON-RESTORED survivor bike. This 1975 CB 400F Super Sport has only 7,614 miles. It is pretty hard to find a bike this age with this low of miles. I am downsizing my little collection because I plan to do a lot more riding and simply cannot keep up on the maintenance of my older vintage bikes. If you collect vintage bikes, you know that they have to have TLC in order to keep them top shape. I just want to ride more and restore less.......good for someone out there !! History: I am the 3rd owner (as I can tell) and purchased the bike from a Honda mechanic in the Northeast about 8 years ago. I believe that he purchased it from the original owner. I have had it garaged in my Florida home since. I start the bike at least once a month and it is stored on center stand with tires off ground and reduced pressure. I wish that is how I was stored these days :) It has a clear Florida title (currently registered) and is in very good to excellent mechanical and cosmetic shape (with the exceptions noted below, after all it is 40yrs old and UN-RESTORED :). Items Not Original: Battery, tires. The rest of the bike is stock unless I missed something small but I cant see anything obvious. As you can see by the pictures, the Honda owner’s manual and the full set of the original tools are there along with the tool pouch which is located below the seat. I am also including the vintage 1975 published Cycleserve and Clymers manuals which is a nice little bonus !! Cosmetics: Keep in mind that this bike is a 1975 and un-restored so it is not a museum piece but an 8.5 out of 10. If you look close enough there is negligible rust on rims and chrome (if any and very minor age pitting), no dents. The pipes and muffler are original and look great with no dents. There is a small dent on top of the tank (pointed out in the pictures). The frame paint is original with some chipping in the normal high-wear places. The front forks and rear brake drum need to be polished and I simply do not have the time for it (I tried to show that in the pictures). Polishing those are not a big job. The engine casings have some minor flaking (pointed out in picture) which is not uncommon for these older bikes and is easily repaired if you know the technique. Under the seat is just beautiful and looks awesome. The little chrome rivets on the seat could use a little rubbing out :) All informative and warning labels are intact, legible, and in good shape. A lot of people like to look under the fenders so I took a snapshot under the rear fender....it looks great for 40yrs old :) The frame and engine numbers do not match, but they do not match on pretty much any CB400F. Honda did not frame / engine match on these bikes back then due to the way they were produced. None the less, its an original engine / frame configuration. Mechanical: Engine- starts and runs fine. Transmission- shifts smoothly through all six gears. I have not gone through the carbs in about 4 years but they have not given any reason to do so. They balanced well in 2011 (using old fashioned mercury gauges). Electrical: All lights, switches, indicators, and gauges work properly.. I added the eBay feature that allows photo enlargement to a group of pictures to allow closer inspection. Again, if you need specific photographs or more information than I supplied, just let me know. If you want to discuss some things, send me your number and the best time to call back. A personal inspection is possible. The bike is located in Orlando, Florida. Simply send me a message and I will make myself available. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I will assist in any way possible with the sipping of the bike. The bike is sold as is with no refunds, no warranty and no return. Shipping will be responsibility of the buyer but I will make every effort to accommodate the process. Bidders with a negative feedback will need to contact me before bidding, or I will cancel the bid. A non-refundable $500 down payment is required within 48 hours and full payment within 7 days. I prefer the balance in the form of paypal or a bank check/ cashier’s check, and it must clear my bank first before pick-up or shipping. I will mail the title via registered mail once the check clears. Again, please feel free to ask any questions. The bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction if sold locally.
