Vehicle Detail

I am selling a 1996 Honda Del Sol Si 1.6L I4This car has about 289,000 miles on the engine. The engine itself is original factory motor, it has never been modified in any way. This car is bone stock. It still has its original factory clutch that is showing no wear when driving. This car was primarily used as a commute vehicle by a Music Teacher who commuted mostly highway to her destination. The car is very well maintained and will last many more hundreds of thousands of miles if you give it the proper care. As we all know, to take care of a Honda all you do is change oil and put gas into it. I have put about ~3,000 miles on the vehicle myself, it rides great and I really enjoy the benefit of inexpensive insurance and having a removable top that stores in the trunk AND leaves a lot of room to store things. I have used the car as a leisure vehicle on the weekends only, no commuting as i have a different car to serve that purpose. Since I had the car the only thing that I have changed is the audio system and i added a better (Viper) alarm. I also installed a very nice set of Polk Audio speakers + amp (2 tweeters, 2 mid, and 2 coaxial) and a good Kenwood head unit which has lots of features like Bluetooth (hands free calling) etc. My thinking is - if you are going to have a convertible - you need good quality sound, not something that will shake your neighbors house - but something that you can enjoy. One other thing is that i did remove the carpet out of the car and replaced it (at least temporarily) with Mass Loaded Vinyl, the old 17 year old carpet was just falling apart, and needed to be taken out.The car does have a Salvaged title, but that did not stop me from purchasing it because it was given to me with a folder with every single maintenance record this car has ever had in the last 17 years (from tire purchases to regular maintenance). I have all this documentation and you would be getting this documentation if you purchase the vehicle. The reason it has a Salvaged title is because of a side-swipe by a mini-wan in a private driveway of a house (we are talking about speed of like 5 mph). This is no way affected anything, has been repaired -- but of course the insurance company deemed it "Salvaged" because they estimated the repairs to fix the side swipe more than what the cars "official" worth is. Lastly i did swap out the odometer cluster (i still have the old one and you can have it), so the odometer right now reads less miles than are actually on the vehicle. So ~289,000 is the actual mileage on both the engine and body.AC works and Cruise Control also work great. These are pretty rare and hard to find in a good condition like the one I have. The records that you will receive will show these "major" repairs, and the obvious regular maintenance stuff:August 2013 -- New brake hoses, pads, rotorsMay 2013 -- New o2 Oxygen Sensor, All New Tires at 278,435 milesMarch 2013 -- 30,000 mile service -- Brakes -- Spark plugs -- PCV Valve, Air and fuel filters, Transmission fluidDecember 2012 -- Complete paint jobSeptember 2012 -- Clutch Slave and Master Cylinder replacedMay 2012 -- New radiator and hosesApril 2010 -- Complete tune up -- timing belt, water pump, camshaft seals, beltsMarch 2009 -- Fixed broken handle latch on roof February 2009 -- New radio/CD player, Speakers and keyless entry installedAll oil changes and recommended repairs every 3K-5K The BAD:No Carpet, thus the ECU computer is visible on the passenger side and some other wires are visible on drivers side kick panelA few cracks in the windshieldWindshield wiper arms need to be paintedThe car was painted in 2012, but it wasn't the best paint job ever. The Good:Overall good condition inside/outside (considering its a 19 y.o. car)Roof seals are in great condition and do not leakGood aftermarket sound systemGreat paper trail of maintenance recordsVehicle passed NC emissions inspection 1 month ago - no problems Bottom line:This is a 19 year old car, so some wear is expected, But overall its in pretty good condition. It took me 9 months to find this car, a 96 is very rare - for most of its lifetime it was garage kept and remained completely stock (i.e. no performance modifications).I hate to part with the car but the only reason I am looking to sell is because I am graduating and will likely need to move and thus cant keep two cars around.Email me though ebay if you have any questions and i will try to get back to you within 8 hrs or less.
