Up for sale today is a 1986 Porsche 944 2 door coupe. this is a NON TURBO car. I know very little about the car as I bought it from a buddy to flip and re sell. The car runs and drives and stops, but it smokes out of the exhaust and if you let it run for a while it smokes from under the hood, im thinking its leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold. Thus this car IS NOT in street worthy condition unless there is work done to it. also the brakes are a bit squishy. I have not looked into closely why the car smokes. motor runs. DOES NOT KNOCK. LOOK AT PICTURES FOR CONDITION SPECIFICS. This would make a great parts doner car or if you want a fixer upper. Lots of good parts on it. The rims, tires, lights and catalytic converter alone are worth the 500$. Exterior, the paint is faiding in spots and cracking. there are some small rust spots, see pics. No major dents, thus the body panels are probably salvageable with some body work and paint. Interior, the radio is gone. driver seat is tore. some panels broke/missing. Rims and tires in good shape. lights in good shape. all glass in good shape. I bought this car from a buddy two weeks ago to flip. thus I have not driven it on the street and don't know much about it. When you start the car up it smokes out of the exhaust but seems to diminish a bit after running. As far as smoke flowing under the car while driving I do not know. The smoke under the hood I have not looked into but it smells like oil burning thus my assumption of some thing leaking onto the exhaust or heating up and burning. After idiling for 10-15 minutes at a stand still the car is at tempature and does not seem to be over heating. it is unknown to me if it will overheat while driving. After warming up I did not notice any tapping or knocking. This car would probably be better suited as a part doner. I know little to nothing about porches....im more a chevy guy. like said in the listing then engine runs and does not knock, worst case im thinking maybe the rings are letting some oil past them thus the smoking out of the exhaust during start up. I do not have the equiptment to test the compression on the cylinders and cannot verify this. the car does leak oil from underneath, not a lot but enough to make a spot on the drive way after sitting for a week.
