1997 Subaru Impreza Outback (wagon) Sport. I am offering this vehicle for sale complete for a few weeks before parting out. 244k miles, still runs & drives but has issues that make it not roadworthy in it's current state; transmission slips / shifts erratically on occasion, has fairly large exhaust manifold leak, and rear brake line is rusted through so brakes are very mushy. Vehicle was bought new and owned by an older couple for the majority of it's life, and as such was maintained flawlessly; anything that needed service always was, without exception or expense spared (all receipts since new available). I have personally owned and driven this car for the last 5 years or so, and can attest to it being an absolutely fantastic vehicle in it's prime! No matter the terrain or conditions, this thing would get you there! It is now at a point where I would consider it to be at the end of it's useable life; between the rust that is beginning to spread over the entire chassis, and the powertrain issues, I would call this one DOA. However, it is FULL of tons of good parts for a Subaru Impreza enthusiast! I know there is a market for these parts and if it comes to it, I will part the car out personally, however I would just as soon sell it whole to an enthusiast for a little less money / to avoid the labor and hassle of parting it out. It still looks decent with decent paint, pretty straight and nice body panels, and a nice clean interior with very minimal wear! It was in a very minor fender-bender that has since been (mostly) repaired- damaged the rear hatch, left taillight, and rear bumper cover. If you look you'll notice the hatch is from a "L" model, not the correct sport version, the rear bumper cover is not the correct silver (lower trim) color, and the taillight does not quite fit right from the sheetmetal underneath being slightly bent. If a person were so inclined, you COULD actually put this guy back to a roadworthy state, but my opinion (as a mechanic myself) is that it would be better utilized as a parts car. Pictures are of the actual car you are purchasing, in it's current state. Refer to pictures for condition details of everything, it is exactly as it appears!
