Vehicle Detail
I have had this tr for 7 years, when I Got it, it was a faded cracked blue with a shot top and I was not sure it ran. It was painted shortly after I bought it but has suffered a few dings over the years that have been fixed with touch up, over all it has a smooth paint job. After it was painted it sat in storage while I was deployed and it was not till about a year ago that I got time to work on it. Now I'm not a big British sports car fan, I mean I think they're cool but I"m more down the line of hot rods. That said I did the work bringing it back up to operation level. The engine fired back up after I rebuilt the 175-cd2 strombergs carbs, removed the egr system it doesn't need smog because its age, flushed the coolant system, put new hoses on, new wires, plugs, points, distributor, flushed fuel tank, and new sending unit. It fires up and idles after about 10 min after that it runs around fine with out stumbling or stalling. The convertible top was shot so I saved the frame and put a new Robbins with new weatherstripping on, and of course I lost the 70 dollar latch mechanism so those are new too. The brakes have all been replaced front and rear and rebuilt with new wheel cylinders but for some reason the front calipers leak a bit I rebuilt them but they were a bit pitted, regardless it stops very well and there is no brake noise when stopping or at high speed. The electrical on the car is all in good order I did nothing more than clean terminals however it looks like the horns taking a dump, sometimes it works and other times not but the button in the wheel is new and the actual horns are cheap. There are also 2 trim pieces missing along the bottom edge of the car other than that the car is all there. The interior is in decent shape, the choke toggle surround was cracked from years of being operated so i filled it and the seats need some real attention the foam is no good inside and there is a tear in the drivers. Ultimately the car is in good shape minus the seats and small tinkers to do. Like I said the triumph is not really my thing and I feel someone else would get more enjoyment out of the finishing touches than I would. I'm not really sure what to list this for kkb says 16 for medium but I can see that that's not what they are going for but I think around 8-9 is a far deal for this, it does look very clean out in the sun and the convertible top makes for a really fun drive. If you don't think its a fair deal make me an offer I would like to sell it soon so I can get a bike and enjoy spring riding. Thanks and good luck.
