This is Ruby, a 1950 Buick Series 40 Sedanette. Dynaflow Transmission. Push-button Radio, Heater/Defroster. 1st. year Burgundy paint offered. Paint is Lacquer and quite stunning. I have owned car for about 13 years. It has been driven regularly in spring, summer and fall during my ownership. Usually on short trips to nearby lake, or used by my wife to take students to pizza after they have learned their times tables. I just serviced car. We driven it about 100 miles in the past week, will put a few hundred more on it while it is for sale. Chrome and stainless is very good to excellent except for the dynaflow emblem housing on the trunk (some pitting), one of the front bumper teeth(small dent and mar), and the front bumper blade(small dent and wear). They are good for a daily driver or local show, but not perfect. The other teeth in the front are NOS. The rear bumper has been rechromed. I had the Dynaflow transmission rebuilt by a retired Buick mechanic about 10 years ago. It does not leak, and it operates properly. Radio and heater (underseat) both work. The car has been completely rewired with a proper kit, gauges all work, engine rebuilt and engine compartment and trunk have been properly detailed, including decals.(see pictures) All fenders were removed and replaced with unrusted, undamaged items. No radiator leaks, hoses in excellent condition. Engine hums like a straight 8 should. Engine seeps about 2 tablespoons of oil per year. Doesn't use oil. Except for the carpet (proper replacement), the interior is original, not restored. Looks great for a 65-year old car. I have a new headliner in box which will come with car. My wife wouldn't let me change it. She like the aged smell and patina! Glass good, windows work properly. Car comes with paperwork from original owner. Dealer's delivery checklist, warranty information, etc. Also have original owners manual, and shop manuals for car and dynaflow transmission. Have spare front bumper teeth, oil filter, and other items for maintenance which will come with car. Finally, the car will come with a new unused window air cooler. An up-to-date version of what was available in 1950. I have driven car in the rain only once since I purchased it, so underside is clean and exhaust is in great condition. There are personalized plates that do not go with car. There is a California YOM plate that goes with car.Minuses on the car are the few chrome items I mentioned above, the wipers are intermittent (vacuum), and the tires are getting old.Great for short drives (50-100 mile round trips), but I would not drive for long distances without replacement. If you use the buy-it -now option, I will have 4 new Coker tires installed before you take delivery. If you live in the Central Valley of California you can come look at car, and if you're the winning bidder, drive it home. You'll just have to drive 55mph.This is a great car, always turning heads, and is ready to drive and enjoy. We have, but it's time to move on.
