RARE OPPORTUNITY to purchase a ONE OWNER classic Mercedes 500SL R107 Euro Model that has spent its entire life in Southern California and is rust free. Equally rare this Mercedes 500SL has a California BAR sticker (Bureau of Automotive Repair) which means it is one of the only Euro 500SL legal in this state. Clear California Title. VIN #WDB1070461A017261 (Ebay system not taking the European VIN#) I have all the original documentation for this Mercedes including the original Purchase Order (see photo)! The car was purchased by a real estate developer here in California. He flew to Germany to purchase the 500SL and then imported the car to California where it has spent its entire life. The 500SL is THE model to own from the Mercedes SL lineup that included the 380, 450 and 560. The 500 made the most power with its all aluminum V8. It was also lighter, faster and far prettier than any of those other models. Note in the pictures the beautiful European headlamps with their little wiper blades, the pretty front and rear bumpers and the attractive grill. This is how the R107 was intended by Mercedes to look! The black canvas soft top is in very good condition with a clear plastic window. As you can see the removable hardtop is in good condition as well. The Hardtop Storage Stand is included as well. This is also a very rare black over palomino leather interior. The original brochures are also included, including the wheel brochure. The BBS wheels were ordered new with the Mercedes as shown on the purchase order. Just two thousand miles ago the transmission was replaced (~$3,000) as was the master cylinder and the front brakes redone. Included is the tool roll, jack, what appears to be the original spare and the owner's manuals, one in English and one in German. Under the spare tire is beautiful paint and not the rust you see on other SLs. This is a truly rear and exceptional opportunity to acquire an appreciating classic Mercedes that has known just one owner its entire life...a life spent in dry Southern California. With just 132,000 original miles the car has been driven, on average, just 4,400 miles a year. The owner's health precludes him from driving the car which is why it has now come to market. It is in very presentable condition given its age and miles, and of course, is sold as is. What this car needs most is simply to be driven.
