This little truck has been in the family since the late 80s or early 90s. Well sort of. I bough the truck in Frorida and it was my daily driver until we moved to Texas in 1995. Some time afterwards I lost interest in it and sold it to a guy who was going to rebuild it. In the early 2000's when the price of fuel shot thought the roof I found this truck sitting in front of the olds mans house with a for sale sign on it. He pulled the engine and lost interest them died. I bought the truck And found it was still titled in my name. So in some ways I owned it the who time. I found a 1985 Jetta turbo diesel and installed its engine and 5 speed in this truck. Wow what a difference the turbo diesel was over the na diesel. I used this truck for my business and as my daily driver until 2009 when I moved to Corpus Christi. I did not bring this truck with me because I did not want to salt air to do it in. I used it from time to time when I visited my ranch and it was tagged up until 01 15. We stopped using it because we bought a land cruiser and that put us up to 5 vehicles on the road. A lot for two people. This is a used 1983 vehicle so it is not perfect. But she ain't bad. Please call 254.595.0022 with any questions I will do my best to answer them. The timing belt was changed last spring? It might have 100 miles on it. The park brake cables, brake shoes and Cylinders were replaces around the same time. It has new seat covers and a re apolstered headliner as of today. For some reason it say it is stock. I chose stock in referring to trim. I take that as it is not a upgraded model. Second the Miles are not correct as it has had the turbo diesel put into it. The milage should be somewhere around there because the 85 Jetta donor did not have a crap load of miles on it. I put a few videos on youtube to help you make up your minds. I wanted to show you a cold start 31 degrees outside and I wanted to go through the gears to let everyone know it runs fine. Unfortunately Mother Nature has no t been helpful in giving me a dry road for the video. The road was icy dut I did go through the gears.
