Welcome. Up for sale is a 2003 Ford Ranger Supercab XLT 4WD. This popular, "time-tested" truck has very low mileage for the year at only 98K. 4X4 Ranger's are hard-to-find in this price range, especially with low mileage. Overall, the condition, cosmetically and mechanically, is very good. Please note that this Ranger does need some body work/rust repair (rocker panel repair and tailgate repair). In addition, we have been upfront in what our ASE certified technician deemed it needs, so please read the entire item description for all details of the pros and cons of this great little truck. This Ranger was a local trade to us, and is not a "hammered auction vehicle" that we are trying to unload. The Autocheck Vehicle History report is clean, and I will gladly email the report to any interested party. (For some reason, the Autocheck is not showing up on the listing). This Ranger has an accident free history report with no title/problem checks, no odometer discrepencies, and scores an 89/100 with 2 owners since new.

Inspection/Warranty: It has a current PA state inspection until August of 2015, but we have disclosed below what it will need to pass PA state inspection again in August. Please be aware that if you live outside of Pennsylvania, we cannot guarantee that the vehicle will pass your state's inspection as rules vary from state to state. Furthermore, we will not be held liable in any way for any such repairs or non-conformity.

PSI (Pennsylvania State Inspection)/Used Vehicle checklist:
1. Needs front rotors and pads
2. Four wheel drive low not currently operational (four high works well. Tech stated that this should be an easy fix (i.e. sensor), as 4LO was likely never used.)

3. Needs rocker panel repair (driver's side worse) and the tailgate bottom is rusted out (repair or replace). We have the name of a local, affordable bodyman if you are interested in having the work done.

4. SES light is on for O2 sensor codes, please see full diagnosis below.

Value: This Ranger, as equipped, has a NADA retail value of $9,500~ and a KBB retail value of $9,640~, making our buy it now an outright bargain or take you chance at bidding and possibly save even more! This Ranger is perfect for a bodyman or backyard mechanic.

Mechanical: Our master tech. stated that this Ranger is mechanically sound. The "service engine soon" light is on for oxygen sensor codes. The codes and their diagnosis is as follows: P2196: O2 sensor excess rich signal, bank 1, sensor 1. P2198: O2 sensor signal stuck rich bank 2, sensor 1. P0171: System too lean, bank 1. P0174: System too lean, bank 2.

As the list of needed repairs indicates, I was careful to leave extra time stopping on my test drive, as the rotors and pads need replaced in the front. The truck did stop in adequate time though, but please do not expect it to stop as new with worn brakes. Also, please be aware that if you elect to drive the truck rather than trailer it, it is solely at your risk, as we have been upfront in the needed repairs and cannot guarantee the current driveability/safety of the truck, especially on a long trip.

Exterior: The body is mostly straight and clean, especially for a 2003, with the exception of the rocker panels and tailgate. Please remember that this is a used model year 2003, so please do not expect it to be perfect. However, overall, this truck does show below average wear for age, as evident by the low mileage.

Interior: The interior shows only minimal wear, and is especially clean for a twelve year old truck. I did not note any rips or damage to the cloth seating. I tried all power equipment, windows, locks, mirrors, and all works well as of now, but any needed work to such equipment is not covered in any way and will fully be the buyer's responsibility.
