Vehicle Detail
1966 VW Bus Camper of America Beautiful Condition We have taken this bus completely down to the bare shell and have redone all of the cabinets, upholstery, and carpeting. We installed a brand new factory original water tank, water pump and drain valve assembly. Completely rebuilt the transaxle, and rebuilt the original 1966 engine. We have completely redone the entire brake system, including new master cylinder, new brake cylinders, new brake hoses, new brake shoes and turned the drums and installed new wheel seals and bearings. The front suspension in the bus was perfect so we did not rebuild that. The bus drives straight as an arrow. A brand new complete door seal set has been installed. As the photos will show, it is in amazing condition. In over the 30 years that I have been in this industry, there have only been a handful of vehicles that have really caught my eye. As you'll see, this is most definitely one of them. Everything works as it should. This bus has been in Arizona, so there is very minimal rust. Please take a look at the photographs below, and feel free to call me at the shop toll free at 1-800-955-9795 Monday-Friday 8:00 am- 6:00 pm Mountain Time. Or on my cell phone any time at 520-247-0092. We are happy to help arrange shipping. Upon the auction ending, we require a $500.00 deposit immediately, payment in full must be made 7 days no exceptions. We are happy to store the vehicle if time is needed for shipping arrangements. This photo shows the exterior and the interior as a group shot. As you will see in the other photos, we have completely gutted this bus and rebuilt everything. We have buffed the original paint, put everything back together to show the bus's original patina. This photo shows the interior, refrigerator side. We have installed a brand new water tank from the original manufacture. We installed a new water pump and water drain valve, which you will see in an additional photograph. This photo shows underneath the right wheel well. There is absolutely low rust, other than light Arizona surface rust. This vehicle has not had any sort of paint job, all is original paint. As you can see the upholstery has been completely redone and is super clean. This has the original under-seat grey mats in tact and in perfect condition. This shows that the vehicle has brand new tires all the way around and the spare is in perfect condition. This also shows that the vehicle has the original seat belts that are flexible, clean and work perfectly. Under the original rubber mat is some surface rust, with a quarter sized hole that has not been repaired. However to have such a small hole in this year vehicle is absolutely amazing. This is the same thing but on the drivers side. There is also a small hole underneath the original floor mats. These two holes are the only rust spots on the vehicle. This photo shows that we put new kick panels in. The dash is gorgeous, it has never been cut. This bus even has the original radio from the factory that works. We also installed a new windshield with new rubber. This is a great shot of how straight the original body is and how the original paint buffed, and how it is patina. This also shows that there are brand new door panels on the bus as well. This photos shows the re-skinned cabinets that look just like the original. The rear window seal is also new as well as all the drapes. All of the lights work as they are supposed too. Great looking rear-end :) Original engine that we have gone through and is in perfect running condition. Picture speaks for itself. Gorgeous interior. Another shot of the beautifully restored interior. Ready to get you out camping. Another great shot of the dash being in pristine condition. After we re-assembled the cabinets, the drain tube has been put in place as is ready to go. There is plenty of storage underneath the seats. Heater box is in place and the heater system works just fine. This is the new water drain for the new water tank. This is only surface rust, the vehicle is super solid. Again, this bus has a super straight body with the original paint. It is ready to be enjoyed. The crank out windows in this photo do not show the screens installed, however they have been re-screened and installed. A peeping Tom photograph. Beautiful, comfy interior. Z bed works fantastic. This photo shows the new rebuilt transaxle installed. All new engine seals were installed as well. Again, as mentioned, full brakes, all hydraulics and rubber hoses have been replaced. This photo shows the interior removed, and how solid the original bus is. There is absolutely no bus in the floor boards. The pictures of this bus really speak for themselves. It is a stunning bus, in great condition.
