Vehicle Detail

Found this gem in the original owners back yard. All original never restored. The car was bought in Morocco in 1974 by the original owners who were serving in the military. They toured the area while living there. They brought the car back to their home in the USA, Santa Fe, NM, after service. It has been a local car here in the southwest ever since. The car was parked in 1982 when driving a stick shift was no longer suitable for the couple. The car retains it's Moroccan license plate up front. I have a picture of the car the day the bought it - see the photos. The car is presented exactly as found dirt and all. I replaced the taillight lenses and put a new badge up front. That is it cosmetically. Well, sitting outside in our dry climate saved the car from rusting away, however, our powerful sunshine cooked the roof paint and dash pad. Some of the rubber trim inside is intact but has fallen free and needs re-attaching. The tires are not cracked and hold air but should be replaced as they are hard and have flat spots from sitting. The oil was changed, carbs cleaned, new clutch hydraulics were added, a new fuel tank and battery. It runs remarkably strong and seems to have good compression. Charging system works fine and engine temp runs cool. It doesn't smoke. With new tires this could be a daily driver as-is and would be a simple cosmetic restoration due to the straight body. Floors are solid and I don't see much in the way of rust aside from surface scale underside. Electrically most switches will need a good contact cleaning. The previous owner put a switch under the dash for the headlights and there is another keyed ignition switch there as well. This is the 1974 1/2 which had the rubber bumper overiders which are easily removed to make it a pure chrome bumper car. It is also a popular car for converting to V8 power due to being the first year of the larger engine compartment designed for the MGB V8. This is the last of the chrome bumper cars. It is a solid car perfect for the first time restorer since most everything needed is cosmetic no welding or straightening. All you need is a Moss catalog and you can slowly restore while you drive. While you could drive it home, it would need new tires first. The tires on the car are fine for going around the block and do not have dry rot but are hard. Discount tire here in Santa Fe has a set of proper tires at $43 each. I can assist with meeting your trucker and this car can easily be driven onto a trailer or truck. MORE DETAILED PICTURES:

I'm sorry but the bidder with zero feedback had a highly suspicious user name (gibberish). we need to keep the community clean from scammers and pranksters. On Dec-31-14 at 14:25:11 PST, seller added the following information: Included is a Haynes shop manual along with my receipt for $1400 for the work I had done by a reputable shop here in Santa Fe.
