1949 Chevy Deluxe Coupe Listed is a very solid 1949 Chevy Coupe/ Fastback. I agreed to restore several cars for some local customers so I won't have time to get to this car for quite some time, So now I am offering it for sale. The car has a later model V6 engine that runs like a top, after it warms up. It has an automatic transmission and even has power brakes. The car is rock solid and was obviously restored MANY years ago. We just tuned up the car. The old Chevy runs very good. No noises, no smoke out the exhaust, just runs like an old sewing machine. The trans shifted fine when I parked the car 2 1/2 years ago and seems fine driving it around the lot so I am guessing it's fine. Brakes work, lights seem to work, Mechanically the car is in good shape for being 66 years old. Yes, I think if you rebuild or at least clean and put a choke on the carb you could use it for a daily driver. Restore to your liking as you enjoy driving it. This is a PERFECT car to restore for the simple fact it would be a crazy wild low rider or restore to a cool old rat rod. You could also make a beautiful original style coupe given it is mostly there (chrome trim). I have personally restored 4 of these pre-1950 chevys. These in my opinion are one of the easiest and cheapest cars to restore. You can open several magazines and order just about any part you will ever need and most the parts are very reasonably priced. Since the drive train is in good running condition the hard part is done. Here is a list of what the car will need. Interior needs restored as you can see in the pictures. The paint is VERY OLD and not in good shape so plan on a paint job unless you like the old look. Tires and wheels are old so that part is on you. I think they look fine but there are some really cool wheels out there that would put the old car over the top as far as looks. The car has a gas tank out of some other car so it will need a gas tank. You actually can't tell unless you open the trunk. Most of the glass is foggy but as I said you can buy new glass pretty cheap out of the magazines I have. New owner is welcome to have the magazines. Like I said it really depends on what or rather how far and how much you want to spend on the restoration of this car. I know you hear all the time how hard it is to find these cars to redo and that is very true. However open up a magazine and look at the prices these people are asking for. This car has huge potential to be a high dollar car and it WON'T cost an arm and a leg to get done. OK the good stuff This is a NO RESERVE auction. I have been selling cars on Ebay for 12 years and have always sold them AS IS, WHERE IS with NO RESERVE payment expected within 5 days after auctions end. When I make my mind up to sell a vehicle I list them to sell not to see what its worth. I am a licensed and bonded dealer in the state of Iowa so you should not have any worries about the vehicle listing or any title issues. Yes the car has a free and clear title in our name.
