Vehicle Detail

1968 Cadillac Eldorado PLEASE look closely. This is a 100% original Los Angeles, CA car. I purchased from the original owner. Always registered in California. No rust, no accidents. A car is only factory original ONE time. I have 14 classic at one time, now I have 8. I have had 2 1967 Eldorados and 3 1968 Eldorados and I know these cars very well. Pay attention to any Eldorado you are looking at, the car show winners and the cars that collectors want are the factory original cars in great condition. "Refreshed" or "Refurbished" cars are not nearly as desireable. This car is truly a factory original with only a few minor wear items. The antenna sticks, a rebuild will cost $115. The only wear on the interior in the door panel armrest cracks from the original owners elbows. There is no stains, wear, tears, or fading of the factory interior. No steering wheel cracks, the knobs are showroom new, seatbelts are showroom, and the vinyl and cloth are perfect, no wear, the wood trim is wonderful. Search on line for items that need to be replaced on car's you are looking at. The cost is very high, if you can even find the right color and part. My headliner is showroom original. I chose not to fix the elbow cracks on the door arm rests, but I called a company in Medford,Oregon who can do a wonderful factory job with new foam and new old stock vinyl for $350 each. I have been deducted 4 points at the car shows for the cracks, but the judges love the fact that the car is 100% original and not refreshed or replaced. I have won car shows with this car in California, Reno and Arizona. Look very carefuly and close, zoom in and make sure the cars you are looking at have not sun damage (fadeing), no rust in the speedometer and seat belts should be showroom. I only collect original 1 owner cars. The factory original vinyl top is showroom. No body rust, no body repairs. Take a magnate with you when you inspect a car, it should stick to the entire body, if it does not, there is bondo on the car. Look at door jams, gas and brake pedals. Be sure doors do not "sag". These are heave doors and are prone to the sag. Mine does not sag and the doors close solid and air tight like when new. The value of a original car always goes up if kept in good operating order. This car has been garaged always. Never seen snow. Dont let the miles fool you, the 472 V8 375 hp motor and transmission have been maintained and run and shift wonderfully. In the early 1970's someone took a key to the doors and fender. The original owner had them removed to factory new. I have over 70 photos of this Eldorado, I encourage you to ask for specific photos of areas you want to view closer. Zoom in on pictures of all cars you are considering, take your time and look really hard, there should be no discoloration, dirt, or stains inside and the paint, top and trim outside should look great. Most cars I have shopped for look great at 10 feet away, but I only buy the ones that look great inches away. If you want a 100% factory original car for car shows or cruise nights this car does not disappoint. Drive anywhere it is very dependable. Take the time to ask questions, really look hard at photos and you will end up with a car to be proud to show. All original classic cars can be detailed under the hood, you can repaint the motor, the black trim ect. It is easy and inexpensive. Beware of strange wires and connections under the hood, this usualy means there was a problem that was not fixed properly. I am happy to share my 32 years of collecting knowledge and tips to all considering buying a classic car. Just call me. This Eldorado will not disappoint you. I would be happy to take time with you and share more photos. Thanks for your consideration of my wonderful 1968 Eldorado. This was the most expensive american car money could buy in 1968, only the Cadillac Limo cost more. The Eldorado was the car people dreamed of owning, almost twice the cost of a Chevy or Ford. These are special cars. Feel free to call with questions (541)251-2684 Pacific Time Zone.
